As you know, I bought a moped. Anyways, I've got it running great and all, but now I'm going to fix the cosmetics. How can I get the chrome back to its original shine, how can I safely remove the spots of what looks like dried sap from the paint, and how can I remove the little bits of rust on a few spots?? any tips are welcome :D

You can bring back some of the shine in rusted chrome by giving it a light going over with a wire brush-just to the affected area and when the rust is gone go over that area with the shiny side of crumpled up tin foil .That won't completely restore the chrome to its original shine-only a rechroming would do that-but it will look far better than the dullness of brushed rust spots.

Where can I get some bug and tar remover? Also, a friend recommended bacon grease, has anyone tried this??

And do you think that the brush/tin foil method, would be good coupled with Never Dull? You know, the can of clumpy polish stuff?

I think one good bug and tar remover is...or at least was...a Dupont product called Dupont Number 7 Bug and Tar Remover. Great stuff.

It used to come in a metal can, but now comes in a plastic bottle apparently. One metal can of the Dupont stuff lasted me about 10 years. I'm not sure if it is still a Dupont product or not, but it now looks like this photo:

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.
