does anyone else here have family reunions that put Jeff Foxworthys stories to shame :?:

I walked into a "You might be a redneck" extravaganza :? we had kids in the truckbed swimming pool. the shirtless adults lighting fireworks with cigarettes throwing them at every moving object. one uncle way to drunk trying to pick fights with everyone.
a midnight mudding in the field across the road. all this ends with an artillery shell fight, "redneck style". MY cousins thought it was a great idea to play tank commander with the artillery shells......... they would hold the base of the launch tube on their chest and fire the shells at one another......... it was all fun and games until my cousin Ely nailed my cousin Jacob in the forehead causing him to fall and the shell to ricochet into the garage ................ family. luckily all the explosives were outside

EDIT: you can now select 2 options to have one for each side of the family,

considering the amount of scotch in my system....... it was quite fun until I could actually think about what transpired that evening
If I had been cut I would have bled scotch ahahahah. since i was the only one that brought expensive scotch I was known as " King D" that night. and I had the privilege of being called Lord by the beer drinkers. ahahahahaha the royalty jokes got old until I got drunk to

Sounds like a mostly fun time. Relatives... For better or worse they're yours.

I only go to these type of things for one reason, and that's because I know how happy it makes my grandparents to see the whole family together, and they've done so much for me that thats the least they deserve.

All the family both on my mother's side of the family and my father's,are extremely close and are always keeping in touch. We had a reunion of my father's side of the family about 5 years ago and the 2 summers ago we had a reunion of my mother's side when one of my first cousins got married. We are having a reunion of my mother's side of the family next weekend and it will take place during the whole weekend. There will be a monster talent show/jam session next Saturday as so many of my cousins are musicians also,it should be a great time as we have many multi-instrumentalists.I hope that my old mitts are i soe kind of fair shape so I can get up and jam.One of my cousins is a clergyman and he'll preside over a special church service next Sunday-the local clergyman agreed wholeheartedly about letting him take part as our family besides being huge, has always been heavily involved with the church there.Anyway I'm really looking forward to the whole weekend as it also involves a boat trip to the light house at Cape St. Francis where we'll have an old fashioned Newfoundland "boil-up" that's where we get a gigantic pot and cook up Newfoundland style salt beef, cabbage, turnip, potatoes, carrots, parsnips, turnip greens and pease pudding which is yellow split peas put into a cloth bag and tied up and cooked in the pot with the vegetables. All of this is usually served with roast turkey or beef with lots of gravy made from juices from the roaster and water that the vegetables were cooked in. BTW-Q:why does a red-neck go to a family reunion? A:To meet women.

My family reunions are always entertaining. The highlight of our last one was a family football game. The dads against the kids (I was on the kids team). It was all fun and games...until all the dads got hurt! One of my uncles was off work for a couple of months due to an injured shoulder. Another uncle injured his foot so bad he could barely walk for the next couple of days. My dad also hurt his shoulder, he even had to attend physio for about a month in order to recover. Oh and by the way, we won. :D

We haven't had a family reunion for a while now - we're waiting for everyone to get out of prison or rehab before we schedule it.

It should be an entertaining time.

You should be able to vote twice, one for each side of your family.
On one side, I'm fine, we all known each other. But on the other side, I swear to god last time we got together bombs nearly fell on that day

The family on my moms side is pretty limited but my dad's side is huge. I haven't seen any of them in years. Probably 14-15 years. Would I like to see them? Yeah I guess but as far as I know now we have some pretty different views in a lot of things in life. Music might be the only thing we have in common.
