I am talking any and all sort of metal. Everything from Led Zeppelin to Dimmu Borgir. Thin Lizzy to As I Lay Dying. All the classics who laid down the foundations for metal (Led Zep, Deep Purple, Black Sabbath) Thrash bands and Hair bands from the 80's (metallica, slayer, megadeth, Thin Lizzy, White Snake etc.) Melodic Death metal bands from the 90's to today (In Flames, Dark Tranquility, At the Gates, Children of Bodom) and the popular metalcore bands of today (As I Lay dying, Between the Buried and Me, Bullet for My valentine)

So, anyone else hear like any metal of any of the stuff listed above, and the man many other types not mentioned?

Ah, Mama's Boys. I thought I was the only one who enjoyed this band. I had the privilege of seeing these guys at Le Rendezvous in Winnipeg in the mid 80's. The things he could do with his Gibson Flying V and his fiddle were amazing.

The 80's were the greatest decade for metal. I wish I didn't have male pattern baldness or I would still have my mullet. Maybe I should Kim Mitchell it.

I saw them at the California Theatre in San Diego back around 1986. Helix was the opening act with Mamas Boys and Y&T the closing act. I was huge Helix fan back in those days.

When it comes to Metal, Megadeth tops my list. My labels may be a little dated, but here's my Metal Favorites

Speed Metal-Megadeth, Anthrax
Hair Metal-Whitesnake, Great White, Queensryche, Maiden
Grind Core-Bolt Thrower
New Stuff-Arch Enemy, Opeth,
Roots Metal (?)- Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath/Ozzy, Deep Purple, Aerosmith, BTO (the song Not Fragile is as heavy as Metal Gets)
I'll find out about Children of Bodom, In Flames, Job for a Cowboy, and High on Fire in a few weeks. GIGANTOUR!!!!!!!!!!

I also really like Evanecsence, but I think of them more in the Classical Vein than Metal.

That's wrong  they should add a date in your area. I got General admission floor tickets, which means I might get injured, but I'll be close to the Stage 8) . I can't wait to hear Children of Bonom, I've heard a lot about them. I'm not going to listen to them until the concert, so my first experience is live.

Hello Metalhead Punk,

I have little metal on my lp's and cd's,
but I do like listening to it in doses.

Cheers.

You can't beat a bit of Megadeth and Slayer, then an afternoon of Malmsteen, Vai and Satriani. Ah, yes the perfect day! No death metal though! :D

I like gold, silver, platinum, copper, ...

Oh, you mean metal music.

Black Sabbath
Deep Purple
Iron Maiden
Judas Priest
YJM
Metallica
Megadeth
Slayer
PANTERA (eh hem)
American Head Charge
White Zombie
Coal Chamber
Dream Theater
Testament
Voivod (heard of 'em?)

After Metallica and Slayer I don't think you can get as heavy (but melodic and loud) as Pantera without going completely death metal. I was right there at the beginning of the 80's hair metal seeing up-and-coming bands like Cinderella in a dank small club before they made it.
