Just so everyone knows, I did not actually steal a bus or drive under the influence. In fact, I never even went out for any drinks at all let alone get drunk. It's just an old joke I dredged up from the past.

Drunkenness is a commonly used fodder for joke telling as are husband/wife issues. As a divorced man who got raped up the rear end with a wire brush in the property settlement like many men nowadays, there was a time when I was very sensitive to marriage jokes and/or man bashing jokes. I knew that I was the one who had to change my attitude because the world wasn't going to stop telling jokes on my account. For this reason I am not offering any apology for my joke because I don't feel it is appropriate to apologise for what is normal and commonly accepted.

That being said, I do offer my sincerest condolences to you, abs for the loss of your brother. That is really, really awful and I feel for you, bro. :(

i like you folks but in my opinion drunk drivers should not only be arrested for drinking and driving but also for attempted murder. no second chances just like those who have been killed by them. god bless the souls of those who have been killed by idiotic fools. there are no excuses.

My brother was killed by a dumbass drunk driver so your humor is lost on me...sorry!

Though I'm probably going to take heat for this, I think you should lighten up. He probably didn't know that. I've lost family members to cancer, Alzheimer's, accidents, etc, and it's still a good laugh if someone says the right joke. Hell, I have a possible tumor growing on the inside of my elbow and I'll still laugh at a decent cancer joke. (yes, I actually do have some kind of growth/cyst/whatever growing. getting it checked later this week possibly.)

No heat at you, but when it is a preventable thing..no way do I find humor in it! Especially when my brother was the 3rd person killed by the a hole and he got off scot free and tried to take my family to court. As for your situation I feel for you and will keep you in my prayers! Positive vibes going your way buxom :)

Ahhh. 3rd offense? Why isn't the $@!&#*% in jail?

yea, but it's this weird lump under my skin that's the size of a peanut now. if it gets any bigger, definitely having some kind of treatment more than simply having it removed. Just noticed it Sunday.

Thanks man, no hard feelings if I may have caused any!

Not a bad joke.

I have two DWIs - one in 1978 and again in 1983.

Those were the two times that I was caught. There were many nights when I didn't even remember driving home. When I was in rehab they asked me if I ever killed anyone while DWI. I said no. Then they asked me, "If you were blacked out then how do you know you didn't kill anyone"? I didn't like that question at all. I've not had a drink since 1986. Took a while to learn how to live sober.

I use to drink....and I ran the gauntlet a few times.A young stupid irresponsible young man.By the grace of god,I never killed anybody or myself.I now no longer drink. There was a particular night I remember coming home from a gig and I felt ok when I left.I had had a few beers too many and never should have drove.I remember about half way home it hit me like a brick wall and I prayed to get me home safe and not kill anybody and I would never drink and drive again.I have not had a drink since than and thank god that I didn't hurt anybody. Please don't drink and drive people. It is 100% preventable .Therefore.....NO EXCUSES! Condolennces to ABS...sorry bro for your loss. This is exactly why I don't do it anymore.Freakin stupid
