The legendary quartet, The Four Tops are playing at Wolf Trap in Vienna VA on August 2nd. I want to go so badly. They really did have some great stuff, and have been together almost 50 years, which is simply amazing.

I'm almost afraid to see how much tickets are, but maybe I'll see if my mom and grandma want to go. I dono, this just seems like something I shouldn't pass up.

A personal favorite. 8)

AFAIK the only remaining original member is Duke Fakir. However, they actually sounded pretty dang good the last time I saw them in Charlotte, NC. The Tops play in Charlotte on a pretty regular basis, at least once per year for as long as I've been here. Over the past 30 years this has often been with whatever vocalists were going by the Temptations name. No original Temps remain though. These twin bills almost always sold out smaller venues like the Ovens Auditorium (the best place to see a concert in town by the way) or filled the Carowinds Paladium which is huge.

I think the last time the Tops were in town the bill was The Temps, The Tops, The Commodores and Chicago at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater. Reserved seats sold out faster than Jimmy Buffett's annual visit...and before I could buy tix. All that was left was lawn seats.

Luckily, the place I may see them doesn't have lawn seats. It would probably be my first sit down concert, and probably my first concert where I'm not right on the stage. But really, I like their stuff. It's so perfect for a classy party or just for smooth listening. And this would be a great excuse for me to get dressed up, like my red suit kinda dressed up. Anyways I just thought I'd share this, considering they're kind of a cool group.

My first real concert at the Amphitheater in Chicago, a Dick Clark production touring the country in 1966. The Four Tops and The Young Rascals were headliners, the other acts names escape me, lol.
here is a youtuber's "Tribute To The Four Tops "
