i have my mids down to 4 my highs on 8 and my lows on 7 am i cutting down to much on the mids???? i'm also using the boss ds-1 setting on my ME-70 and the boss CS-2 setting is on for a while as well...

Are YOU happy with your tone?

If you gig, do people complain about your tone?

If the answer to the first question is "Yes" and the second is "No", then there is nothing wrong with your tone. :D

i sometimes feel that my tone is kinda dead and it needs more presence but yeah i like my sound

no people don't complain unless they complain about me using strats for heavy distortion songs but i bash them hard when they diss my babies

i don't hear anything negative there, you aren't using chorus, delay, flanger and wah all at the same time, so that's good
a recording of you playing with a band would help as far as if your sound fits the mix.
but overall it fits the music you play with well.

As far as I'm concerned, the only tone mistake you can make is becoming too reliant on effects. If it sounds good to you, you're doing it right.

That's a multiple choice question..... Happy with those settings in your bedroom playing over a track? Your getting your cut through out of your highs, For that application its working and sounds good. In a band you might want to roll off a bit of high and bring the mid up to get more grunt?? If the acoustics of the room aren't too bright..... Heaps of lows will always sound good with fender pickups IMHO. All completely subjective. The tone search is perpetual.... :|
