I always recommend Seagull when people ask me what kind of guitar to get. They're the best bang for the buck I've come across lately. I think Seagull is the better of the Godin sister companies, Simon & Patrick, Art & Lutherie, Norman, etc.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

What wood are the back and sides? I take it the top is spruce from the grain.

The top is Cedar and the sides and back are Canadian Wild Cherry.

Looks pretty with my Godin.

Congrats on getting such a classy guitar.Godin and all the other companies under its control, have proven that it's possible to turn out a top quality product in North America that can compete with the prices charged by the Chinese and Korean companies for their very best products.

You never posted about how it sounds. Did you get it at one of the shops in Houston or mail order?

I sounds great but not where I want to be yet. I didn't try the strings it came with and I changed them out from what I had laying around, D'Adarrio 10s and to me it sounds a little thin. Just a little for such a fat body. I have some 12s on the way and I think that will fatten it up some and put it on par with the much more expensive guitars. But as it is, it's much better than my Yamaha FG700S and that's a hard guitar to beat at that price point.

I bought it online. My employer gave me a $250 gift card for Amazon and I put in $65 of my own money to get it. And with Godin/Seagull, the variances in they're guitars is minimal compared to, well, yanno who?

Thanks. Oh I love the sound, but I think it deserves heavier strings. The neck feels like an electric guitar neck and not like some fat necked acoustics I've had in the past. The fret wires are absolutely flat and whats surprising is, the intonation is dead on and I have never seen that before on a low cost acoustic.

Factory tour.
