Hey, I'm new to the forums, so I thought I'd drop a line, say hello, and try to get to know a few of you. My names Steve, most call me "Bobbles" (short for bobble head, long story), or Wolfie. Whatever ya'll decide to christen me on here is cool.
Anyway, I've been playing accustic for about two years, electric bass for probably six (on and off), drums for six (practice with Slipknot, you'll get speed and tempo down quickly...or Beach Boys. :-D), and saxaphone for probably eight years on and off. Right now I'm trying to master my accustic, which is a vintage Fender look alike.
I got the guitar from my buddy. It used to be his dad's before his dad, sadly enough, commited suicide umpteen years ago. My buddy, who has been through the thick and thin as a close homie since I was ten, gave me the guitar with the promise's that A.)if I ever get rid of it, it best be to my little brother, or my kids (whenever I get around to having them) or he'll see to it my arms dont work, and B.)I practice my arse off.
So yeah.

Anyways, nice to meet ya'll.

lol, well, nice to meet everyone. I like the fact, and find it slightly ironic, that so far I share a little with everyone. I used to be called trouble too, CA, though I've lightened up on that as of late. lol. Kate, definatly appreciate the artsy stuff-that's basically what I do. Tattoo design, I write lyrics (hence why I started playing in the first place, though I still can't put notes to most of my songs) in nearly any style of music, poems, stories, I know Sam will probably frown down upon it, being a cop and all (which, sweetness on a cop that loves to rock out), but I love graffiti too. I just think that, yes, while illegal, there's so much graffiti that IS true art. I'm quite passionate about it in fact. Oh, and lastly, guitarrawks, I love my racing too. I'd love to race dirt, considering there's a dirt track in my town, but I'm kinda short on funds to get a car. I used to race quads through the twenty mile trails in my old hometown. We'd put in like...ten dollars apeice. With fifteen people, first place can be quite nice. :-D
I was an awsome ATV racer, but I didn't really do it for the cash or the race even. For me, riding is the equivillant of true freedom. Kinda like a Biker gets a thrill off the wind in his face on his Harley, same for me on quads.
So yeah, nice to hear from everybody! Glad to be a part of the community.

atv racing/riding is tough! I started on dirtbikes, then went to tv commentating, then to nhra nitro funny cars, then to nhra bikes, then to oval track. nothing ever compares to me to dirtbiking. at least from the adrenaline stand point.

guitar is my world and it's nice not to break any bones. i only break strings now :-)

Welcome to the forum! I'm Bob, been playing for 30.5 years, rock, bluegrass. I do electronics and electrical work for a living and a hobby, besides guitar. You're another of those multi instrument people I've grown to hate! :o Seriously, you'll find this to be a friendly place and I'm glad to see more Fender fanatics join. Welcome again!

Well shoot then, I'm George out west USA and some call me G and some call me GW my wife...ok, you don't get to know what my wife calls me !

I'm semi retired and I started with guitar about 9 years old, din't learn much from the books...quit and started back up prolly 5 or 6 times, had no guitar for years and years, got an acoustic for Christmas 5 years ago and have been at it daily ever since. I can't say I'm very good but I keep having breakthroughs and I try to learn something everyday. I'm happy with where I'm at on my acoustic that replaced the Christmas acoustic and know I'll be able to call myself a musician one of these days, prolly around the time I'm with a group and have been onstage.

It's good meeting everyone, friendly place !

Cheers,

GuitarZon

lol, yeah, ATV racing is definatly difficult. Especially when you can't find good local tracks. Up where I live, in Western NY, alot of this part of the state is investing in "restoring trails" for riders like me. Guess they finally caught on that it's a big part of our culture up here. That and it keeps fewer bullets from farmers shot at fewer ATV'ers. lol (I can say from experience, stray away from farmers feilds, no matter how awsome the jump off the dirt mound in the middle is. hehe). But yeah.
As for guitar, I'm a bit of a self learner too. Hence why I can't really play many songs by looking at the notes, I've got to listen to it enough to play it. This also leads to plenty of song discoveries and home grown tunes I like playing (mainly rockish blues=bluesy rock, pick one. lol). Or, if I really end up getting frustrated with my accustic, I just pick up my sax and play along with some smooth Dark Side Of The Moon. :-D
