Has any one been to Dave's Guitar Shop in La Crosse, WI lately? If so, what did you think? I will be in WI later this summer and thought about making the trip over to check it out. I will be a 4 hr drive each way from there so I wanted to see if you all thought it was worth that long of a drive. The web site looks great but sometimes they can be misleading. Thanks.

A friend of mine goes there a LOT. He lives close by La Crosse. Apparently they have a great selection and are willing to negotiate with you on price. It's a 2 hour drive for me, and I'm considering making the trip to visit him and check it out.
I'd say, if you have something in mind that you've been wanting, bring your $$$ and see what they have and what kind of deal they'll give you.

If you come out empty handed, pick up some micro-brewed beer and locally made cheese on the way back just to make it worth the trip! :D

Thanks. My daughter is working a summer job in Green Bay and I will be up to visit, Mid-August. From what you say it is worth the trip so I'll probably give it a try. Even if I don't buy anything, it sounds the the "museum" upstairs may be worth the drive unto itself. Good luck with your visit. Hope you find something great.

I believe that it was one of the guitar oriented magazines that went through Dave's Guitar Store and shot a comprehensive video of the entire store as well as his "Museum"-I see it more as a shrine.I'm sure that if I had a huge pile of money,I could spend almost a week going through it.I would almost be afraid to go through now as I'm sure that it would cause an insatiable case of GAS and I'd be obliged to spend a pile of money that I don't have,by maxing out all my credit cards. If you can control your GAS I recommend a sidetrip there wholeheartedly.

They are often at the Chicago show in May. CLass outfit, 'purchased a Fender from them.

Highest recommendation for top drawer setup, product, service, fair price.
