oh and musicmans!

I just love how to this day, you can pick up an original jazz bass from the actual 60's and it sounds just as good as a 2012 jazz bass.

are there any other companies that excited you to the point where you are closed to obsessed?

when i was a drummer, i always had a thing for Ludwig and Sonor kits. they just did something special for me

I'm a Fender snob too. To me nothing compares.

I own more Fenders than any other brand of guitar or amp... but I still own forty other guitars and probably at least 20 other amps.

These days I have trouble getting really excited over anything. :|

Same here.

I have an Epiphone Les Paul and would love to have a real nice Gibson Les. However, If I never have one I can live without it. But I could not live without a Stratocaster.

It a good thing because buying Strats and parts keeps me in enough debt.

Good. Live without it. I've owned a few Gibson Les Pauls. My opinion may not be very popular but I think the Epiphone Les Pauls are better than the Gibsons ... except for the pots and pickups, which are very replaceable for a WHOLE lot less money. I find Epiphone does a better job with fit and finish overall than Gibson plus they install frets the correct way, unlike Gibson which does it the most inane and stupid way ever conceived. Check out the difference the next time you're in the music store. Gibson's fret installation method is pure stupidity. Epiphone does it the Fender way .... the correct way.

There's something about Music Masters and 70s Hardtail Stratocasters that give me lady boners. I'm a dude.

I never owned a LP, but have played many. I have owned Epiphones, Yamahas and countless other brands including 3 Strats.

I'm sorry Fender, Godin got ya beat on price point as far as guitars go.

Your amps, Ill see tomorrow. :P

Hmmmm...

Started my electric guitar story with Fenders- the first proper electric guitar I ever owned was an American Deluxe Strat.

Over the last few years I have bought...

- 8 Fenders
- 3 PRSi
- 2 Gibsons
- 2 Epiphones
- 1 ancient Gretsch!
- 2 Ibanez

Out of all that, just 2 Fenders remain. And those 2 Fenders are both Strats. One of which is that American Deluxe... the first one ever.

Could've saved a lot in depreciation by just playing the damn thing!

I remember getting really excited over new PRS guitars when they came out, but they were all rather expensive. God knows how I kept buying them.

However, I really get excited over new Fenders because they're affordable, collectable and customisable. Countless hours spent sitting on the john, looking over Fender's 2003 product catalogue... and the 2001 one... and the 2005 one... my favourite line of Fenders was 2003, I think. Hot Rodded American Specials, awesome Deluxe range (both American and Mexican), superb Custom Shops...

The first bass I ever owned was a P-bass. The bass always sounded and fit just right. I still own it today.
I've only bought 3 basses since, all Fenders. Loved every one of 'em. If/when I buy another it will be a Fender.
Nothing against any other brand, but if it aint broke why fix it?

I agree with this 150%!!! I actually have had quite a few fellow musicians who have owned gibson les pauls, who have had major hardware and electronic dysfunctions. I mean for the amount of money you are spending on a les paul. this thing should come with a free hot girlfriend lol. In my experiences epiphones just seem to be a better made guitar, which is absolutely insane!! I can't believe how much some things cost these days, its unreal, and kind of scary that people actually pay all the money for these poorly made products.. Which leads me to my last point. ive never been a big fan of gibson or epiphones I think their finishes look cheap, i think their hardware looks cheap. the only gibson/epiphone product i think looks half way cool is the SG. In anycase, I don't think they even come clost to holding a flame next to Fender products.

Im super jealous bro! you have a very nice collection! For the longest time, i really liked washburn basses, and Ibanez basses. when i was younger, i thought fenders looked outdated and looked like something an old man would play. Until one day, i was at a music store, and i started playing a bunch of different basses. i just wanted to try all of them out. so i did, i found myself most attracted to the sounds and feel of the Jazz bass. i was like, wow, Fenders are amazing! from then on, i was simply hooked. The only other bass i have played that i like as much as a Fender are, Musican, and G&L which were created by Leo Fender and his team! so yeah, Leo Fender knew what he was doing!

Ever since I was a kid I always loved Fender guitars and I now have 8 of them and I'm not finished yet.I also have a weakness for Epiphones and I have 6 of them.Epiphones are way ahead of their Gibson counterparts in a lot of cases and the build quality and playability is superior to that of the Gibson. The best Les Paul that I ever played was an Epiphone 1959 Tribute that blew the Gibson counterpart right out of the water for about 20% of the cost of the Gibsons. There are many guitars of several brands that get my adrenalin going,I love the reverse body '64 Gibson Firebird VII in Cardinal Red with the Maestro Vibrola and 3 mini hums. The Capri line of Rickenbackers are among my favorite guitars, the 320 like the Rick that John played is an iconic guitar as is the 360/12 like George played and I vow to have either one or both of them before I shuffle off this mortal coil.Vox and Hagstrom guitars also have a warm spot in my heart and I have 3 of the former and 2 of the latter.I'd love to have a near mint Gretsch Country Gentleman circa '63 or any quality guitar from that era because that was the years of the British Invasion and guitars of that time seemed to have something special about them.

Unfortunately I no longer have the Power Jazz Special or the Jazz Plus V. I'm really not much of a collector and those basses were too good to be sitting around and not get played, so I sold them to some guys that I knew would play them and appreciate them.
I have kept the '75 P-Bass since it was my first.
My custom shop bass is the reason why it, or any other bass, doesn't get played very often.
