So last week, in preparation for decorating....... :( I was clearing out some 'stuff' and came a cross a guitar I had completely forgotten about.....
I got it on e-bay(sigh) for next to nothing a couple of years back and am a bit curious as to its origins.

I found a website for them and they are a Norwegian import company........this one isn't on the site so am assuming it is an older one.

It is kind of PRS shaped but has a big thick set neck and a heavier, chunkier body. The pickups are...well....ok....ish so am going to drop a couple of P90s in it I think.

If anyone can shed any light other than the 2 paragraphs about them from their website it would be appreciated. I know there are some Scandinavian brothers on here so maybe they have some info.

Btw am completely expecting to be told they are/were a duff company but the guitar itself is not bad and with a full set-up, changed pickups and probably a few hours sanding the horrible paint off the back of the neck could be a nice enough little shredder........

Cheers guys!

Oh the humanities! How could you forget about a guitar? Someone needs a hard slap. :|

I know I know........

But, in my defense, it was a 'secret' purchase....... and I've been busy with other ones for a while now........and when you have over 20 guitars lying about in varying states of disrepair along with the fact that I have mainly been playing acoustic for the last few months....oh and the 5 customers' guitars that are in my workshop (Mrs Wookee's kitchen.....) forgetting one little cheap impulse buy is almost......and I mean almost....forgivable..........

Hi.
I'm at work right now , but did a quick search on some scandinavian guitarsites. Some says that two swedes started the company , but looks like it is norwegian for the time being. Some says quality is ok , others ca ca..... Produced in Korea - same factory produces some higher end Epiphones + B.C.Rich. Prices seemed pretty stiff IMO - plus/minus prices MIM strat/tele.
The advice around seemed to be : Try it- you might be lucky :)
I also read that the factory could deliver as small series as 6 ! That means it could be loads of different models out there....
Personally , I have seen those around , but have never reflected over them , so I don't know anything out from my own experience.
You may search the web for Eagle 'gitar' or 'gitarr' - no/swe for guitar. Good luck :)

Cheers for that A-man!! 8)

The alternative spelling threw up a few different sites and I found what I think is my guitar on one of them. I think you're right with the pricing though.....I wouldn't pay 500pounds for it!!!!

Pretty glad I only paid 40..........

Never mind, a bit of tlc I'm sure I can make it quite nice........I like the heavy weight of it.........and I have a couple of nice P90s to throw in o will see what happens!!

It's a nice looking guitar. For the price you paid and if it has no major construction issues I can't see why it couldn't be made into a nice guitar with some upgrades.

Happy to be at your service  Glad it helped ! P90's will be nice! The guitar looks good, and I'm sure you make it quite playable. The price was nice- it must be worth it . Enjoy 8)

They have a web site on line that explains the company history.

Ok guys....wee update and a bit of a snag......might be being a bit stoopid(it is to do with wiring so that is a distinct possibility!!!)
(have cheekily updated the title of the thread to see if anyone else wants to jump in)

Before I swapped the pups there was an issue with the bridge pickup......it was waaaay too quiet compared to the neck....no matter what I did with heights it was just too different.

Kind of figured it was a grounding issue so went over the solder joints and looked thoroughly then swapped in the Warman P90s........they look quite nice (will have a better idea of how they sound when I resolve the current issue) but here's a pic anyway
Image

Now they are in I plug it in and try them out and...... .....it's now the opposite way around!!!! The neck is much quieter than the bridge........arse!!!

Here's a pic of the wiring...please can someone pick up on where the mistake is and let me know............
Image
By the way, the thick white cable is the neck and the black is the bridge.......
Cheers

Evan

Got it sorted,,,,,,,,,,,,,,my goodness, wookee is what they call up here, 'a spacker!!!!!'

COuldn't figure out why the original pickups were having issues and this new pickups compounded my confusion......then as I was looking back at the pickups I realised that the switch was the wrong way round.......... I had obviously spun it whilst tightening the grub on the front so all of a sudden it was the bridge, not the neck that was quiet at which point I looked at the pups and realised I had been lowering the bridge and heightening the neck to try and copmensate for the volume difference...............so levelled them out and everything is fiine.

Even funnier theough, I realised that the switch may have been the wrong way round for the initial problem as I had to heighten and lower the pups respectively and that is probably now why there was such a difference in volume.............so tried the HBs in my les paul.....and they work........like I said.........'spacker!!!!'

Cheers guys and apologies for the idiocy of the wookee....again.......
