We have had one of the nicest summers here near St Louis, been fairly mild in the mid 80s at most, and into the 60s at night just perfect! Although starting tomorrow it gets into the mid 90s and beyond for the next couple of weeks, but as nice as it has been I can take a bit of hot weather.

I'm in S. FL. The weather here is pretty constant all year round. Hot and humid. The central A/C runs.

ever had HOT rain? I would trade your weather for the Texas extremes instantly. we get weather swings from the mid 60°'S TO 90°+ In the same week. and it will rain while in the 90s.... its like having tea poured on you with all the steamy humidity and its hell on your hair

this is in Fahrenheit. in Celsius it would be 18° to 36° and peak at 39°

Oh that would just be too warm. I couldn't cope with that, no way. See we're just not used to that kind of heat in the UK, especially up north here. It's warmer down south and London area can get pretty warm. Not Texas warm mind you!

You guys that stay in really warm climes must have air conditioning in your homes though?

Most of us don't have that 'cos we rarely ever get weather warm enough for that. Some people might have air con but most don't i don't think. So if you do get really warm weather the heat just builds until at night the rooms are really warm and uncomfortable.

It's been pretty warm here (for us that is!) but raining a lot. A lot of flood warnings goin' out :(

25 to 30 C is quite normal for a few weeks every summer, this year we had it in may. In the winter, we once had -20 C in my back garden, but usually less than -13 (overnight) is unusual. Last winter was especially cold, I would wake up on a saturday morning for tennis, and then realise I had to go and play in minus 12 or colder...

Ah-ha: another year round tennis player, huh? Come Wimbledon time when the courts briefly fill up with all the fair-weather knock-abouters you kinda feel you've earned your right to be there, don't you? 8)

Cheers - C

We generally have the same sort of summer every year in the greater New York City area. Summers vary warm to hot with humidity and without. We had a bad few days last week that went up into the 90sF with humidity and broke records but this week I've been driving to work in the high 60sF and dry. So typically we get mostly good weather in the summer. One trend that can happen is regular weekly storm activity. I remember summers where the weather was fine all week and then rained through most weekends. Most folks in the area have air conditioning to cope with the worst of the heat but some have it running all summer. NYC and Newark hit the highest temps topping off just over 100F for a few days out of the summer. That makes me love my trees all the more.

Hang in there and here's wishes for clear skys.

Ha yeah... I usually cycle to tennis too :D I remember sometimes we would play tennis, and if it was an ace or whatever and not returned, the ball would disappear in the 2 feet of snow around the courts

Edit: in the south that's quite a lot of snow :D :D

 That must be so uncomfortable :( We've had heat in the 80's before but i can't imagine experiencing that kind of temperature!
Must be a bit like getting cooked in an oven :(

Very rainy again here today but very warm and humid. It's that kind of weather you just know the rain is gonna start anytime.

its all because of global warming and the approaching end of the world as we know it :P
or maybe its some government weather control experimentation

In Northern Ireland half the country is under water right now. We were in the middle of a heatwave about two weeks ago, but that ended right around the same time as I finished exams. Go figure.
