There were afternoon and evening shows at Budokan.
5 shows over 3 days at the venue which many Japanese were furious over since Budokan was the preserve of Sumo wrestling matches. Highly regarded by the Japanese. Neill Aspinall, tour manager said there were 3000 police for the 10000 people there. Which is why you hardly hear the audience as compared to other venues. This also had the effect that the Beatles could "hear how bad" they sounded.

There are videos of one particular afternoon show where the Beatles had some "Tea" before going on stage. Lots of giggling and laughing during the performance and their eyes clearly show some redness.
