I'd have to say "yes" to this. Like others who have responded to this, the Beatles are the reason I got interested in playing guitar in the first place. And say what you will about Miley Cyrus or Nirvana; are their songs going to be standards 40 years from now?

Who are the Beatles? Just kidding but i would have to say
the Rolling Stones there still going strong. The Beatles were just the beginning of more and better things to come. Thats why I think
they are so well known. Been alot of better bands since them.

i have to disagree about this one. the beatles are way up there on the list, but youve really got to consider bands like th Rolling Stones and Led Zeppelin. i would have to say that they may top the list as far as my knowledge goes.

For me the Beatles are the most influential band of all time. The only other band that came close in both social and musical influence on their time is Led Zepplin.

They probably are the most famous band in the world, although I don't really like them.

Hey, you can't like everything. Appreciating music and actually liking it are two different things.

i listen to them almost exclusively. they cover almost all kinds of music.. psychadelic and the harder stuff, well helter skelter is haha.. but theyre awesome. Im only 21, i definately was not even born when lennon died but theyre the greatest band ever. period.

and george was def. my favorite, the let it be solo was amazing. and his songwriting was awesome

I think they were one of the most influential ( listened to them while I was still prenatal) but the media storm continuously surrounding them hurts their credibility in the eyes of many.

"Phony Beatlemania has bitten the dust"... If only.

JS Bach is still more influential on modern music.
