I would have to agree with that. There are people listening to them that were not even born when the Beatles were around.

Big fan myself. I grew up with them. I like all of their music as a group and as solo artists.

Warning! Resurrected thread from '07!

Interesting thought. There are more Elvis impersonators (and varieties thereof) but darned few Elvis-band look-alikes.

Based solely on the number of Beatles tribute bands alone (around Chicago) and their CDs still in the racks at most all stores, this picker says yes, the Beatles are the most famous band.

the beatles were amazing...it would have been interesting to see what they could have done in the 70's...if they coud have matured out of their psychadelic stuff. John, Paul and George did go on to have some amazing solo careers as well.

I've always been a huge Beatles fan. I went to their last concert ever, at Candlestick park. They sounded just like the records.

However.......I also think that the Rolling Stones are another all time great band. Not only great songs.......but durability as well. Look at all the years they've been playing.

I love all styles of music (mostly blues).....but the above two bands are what I think are the two all time great bands, in my lifetime.

I'd say they're the most Famous in the world. You never see Beatles albums in the Bargain Bin. I don't think the White Album has ever cost less that $15, and all their albums have always been availible on every medium since Vinyl.

I do think that they are one of the most famous bands in the world. As for the best band in the world. I'm not so sure.

No Doubt About IT! Opened the minds of millions. Their lyrics are as true today as when written (most of them) The Truth Never Changes, but can be said in many ways.

I grew up listening to The Beatles. They're the ones who inspired me to learn to play.

Yes, they are the most famous. Almost anyone with a pulse has heard of them.
