This might be a little risque but my favorite song off of Overnight Sensation was....... "Dinah-mo Humm" there is a video link available but in keeping with the family atmosphere I will leave it off and let you find it if you wish.
Another song I enjoyed off of that abum would be "I am the Slime" which deals with a more acceptable topic.

Love that Frankie! Saw him twice! Last time I saw him he brought out his youngest son on stage and, sang a song his son had written called, "Dirty Little Frogs."

Cool thread Alan 8)
This is my first Mothers of invention album which was stolen along with my Telecaster in 1968:
Frank Zappa & The Mothers Of Invention - Absolutely Free (Full Stereo Album) (1967)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=258IAiOtnuw&feature=colike

I saw them once at the Kinetic Playground (formerly the Electric Theater) in the spring of 1968 warming up the crowd for Canned Heat. They were from another Galaxy, an amazing band live.

"Studebaker Hawk" I saw them play it in 1972. Flo and Eddie, from The Turtles, was with them at that time.

Have you seen the Frank Zappa Guitar Book? totally frightening transcriptions of Frank's music, mostly off the shut up 'n play series but songs from other albums too. Most of them transcribed by Steve Vai.

I've got the book but never learnt any of it

Frank Zappa was a musical genius and he filled his band with like-minded musicians. I always found it amazing that they could follow the pauses in music and all come in on cue without anyone being the slightest bit off.One of my favourite Zappa albums was 200 Motels and the song "$@!&# Dimension" is a hoot,,one of his best. BTW just in case the first word in the title is censored-it starts with P and rhymes with Venus.
