My Dad's family came from Portadown, I understand things a little calmer there than Belfast. I must visit soon.

Belfast is actually reasonably calm by all accounts, obviously like anywhere there are certain areas to avoid. If you ever do visit, make sure it isn't at Easter because you can't buy alcohol.
There's been a large influx of mexican food recently, so that's good. 8)

Born and raised in Houston, Texas. I think that it's probably one of the most underrated cities in America. All my friends always complain that they aren't living in New York, California or Austin. But I don't know, I think I'd rather live here than anywhere else. We have good music, good food, good people and lots of things to do.

Most people do find they're proud of their home and others find that they live in a better place than they thought they do when presented with a question like this.

I lived there for about two months in early 2002. I had a friend who lived there and I moved in after my marriage took a dump. I lived most of my life in St. Petersburg and a couple of years in Brandon before I moved to Newport, RI. I remember there was some sort of mom and pop music store there we used to go to. I wonder if it's still around?

Most of the mom and pop stores around here these days are now basically consignment shops...people in distressed financial condition trying to liquidate old gear. Lots of pawn shops there, but most of them have a VERY high opinion of the value of the gear. There's a Sam Ash down by Ruth Eckerd hall (North end of the Bayside bridge, but all the good shops are in St. Pete or Tampa. The photo was taken at the mouth of the Cotee river looking towards the fishing shacks off-shore, from a condo I own up there.
