For me there's only one in contention "Never Mind The Bollocks Here's The Sex Pistols" by the Sex Pistols 8) 8) 8) Every song killer, pure energy and the intro to pretty Vacant is one of the most iconic in rock history and so simple. Brilliant. That's what classic rock 'n roll stuff is about; not this "i know ten million scales and arpeggios that i studied in music school" attitude, but someone who can say something incredible using something dead simple like Jonesy with that A major chord down at the nut. Says more with that than a whole bunch of widdlers need to use a thousand notes for

I like Zeppelin and Beck, Clapton and Hendrix and am majorly influenced by them but nothing surpasses this album for rock excitement.

Steve Jones's guitar sound was a cranked up wall of aggression and so cool. Think he used a Fender Twin to record it. He used the twin a lot live in the early days.

You're killing me.

I had to pick, so I picked this one. Self titled is in a close second, with Rocket to Russia and Road to Ruin trailing for third.

This is harder than I thought it would be, I was thinking Creams' Wheels of Fire...just for Crossroads alone, but gotta go with Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs by Derek & The Dominos...great song writing, passionate vocals, one of the tightest playing bands ever and 20 of the finest fingers playing the best blues rock tunes ever.

Yeah that was a great album. Have you heard that box set of cd's with the jams from those sessions? Dickey Betts from the Allmans is on some tracks.

This is really difficult....I'll go with Beggars Banquet by the Rolling Stones...last album with Brian Jones

Topic has me thinking of punk, so at this exact moment I'm gonna have to go with...

Wire - Pink Flag

This album is just punk in it's most pure, absolute form. It's everything it ever set out to be, and more. It sounds like punk made by art students. To paraphrase Mark Prindle, "The vocals sound so snotty and pretentious, and the production is so cold and dissonant in the best of ways. It sounds like this band called Wire is just standing across the room beating you mercilessly with this sound". The song structure is AMAZING as well... It's so simple, yet so masterful and unique. Rarely is there a standard "verse-chorus" structure, rather, the songs just start, go, and stop. It's just beginning, middle, end.

I love it.

Gorgon...Yep...some great playing on those JAMS, I like the first one best, but all are great and a wealth of great guitar runs! I think it is probably the best playing recorded of Duane and Eric...they really complimented and pushed each other well, without it getting into a wanking contest.

Of all the albums I can think of, this one probably has the most sentimental value to me. KORN's bass player was one of my best friends in high school. Eventually, I ended up having two of the other members as roommates. I was around to watch them go from garage band to this album. The hard work and dedication that I witnessed leading up to this album was extremely admirable. It carries with me to this day. And listening to it brings back a lot of very fond memories.
