euphoria, you know I dig your stuff. I think you have the right idea, but you gotta work on more feeling if you're gonna do blues. I like that you try different things and strive to be very versatile. That's very commendable. But for this kind of blues, I would suggest slowing it down a little and use less notes. Let one hang for a bit. Hit something hard then let a scale move into being soft.

Blues music is something that requires your feelings to come through more so than the technical aspects of guitar playing. It's ok to be a little sloppy for mood's sake. Blues is about telling a story with the guitar.

For example, if you're telling a story about frustration, that frustration needs to show itself for a moment, then maybe the mood changes to a sadness and explanation of that. A subtle fingering that expresses the despair. A single 10-second segment can change from one to the other (or maybe longer or shorter depending on what it is).

This is the kind of thing where I usually give advice to people to speak with your guitar as if you were speaking to someone in real life (with your mouth).

I know you're very experimental. Maybe give this a try. Take the rhythm and slow it down a little bit. That will be the foundation. Now use the slide as one voice, fingering scales as another, and do a call and answer as if the two were arguing over something.

Your technical skills are there. They always are. 8)

Sounds OK. I like where you are going with this.
