Comfortabley Numb or Another Brick in the Wall. Gilmour is just so smooth and melodic. With David it's not about notes per minute, it's about quality.

gilmour's are some of my favorite to listen to... my favorite to play is "invincible" by muse which is a little 2 hand tapping lick.... not complicated, but fun to play

Talking about playing it:

"You Done Lost Your Good Thing Now" by BB King. The whole song's a series of guitar solos with singing interspersed, and you've got to stretch that hand, work those bends and vibrato, which is why I love BB King.

My 1st runner up is "Slow Walk" by BB King. The whole song's a guitar solo again and I don't think there's singing in this one. BB scorches Lucille and it's a great song to play.

My 2d runner up is "King of Guitar" by BB King. Notice a pattern? The whole song's a guitar solo with little or no singing. Many cool licks here.

My 3d runner up is "Cocaine" by Clapton rearranged for pure blues with just one guitar playing all the parts that can be played at one time. Very nice signature Clapton licks here.

The Last Waltz version of Further On Up The Road with The Band and Eric Clapton playing. About a minete into it Clapton's strap on blackie falls off and Eric barely catches his guitar so while he fixes it Robbie Robertson takes over and the whole thing becomes like a duel between Robertson and Clapton.

They are not playing Fenders, but the original Blue Sky by the Allman Brothers Band (Duane Allman and Dickie Betts, who has always been underrated, imo).

Yeah, I don't think Dickie gets the kudos he's earned either. He's no shredder, but he's one hell of a country/bluesman. He created quite a few great licks and riffs. He wrote great melody lines.

I love that Part. It shows a side of Robbie Robertson we don't see enough. You can tell by the smile on Claptons face that it really got him in the mood for the tune.

"Comfortably Numb" by Mr. Gilmour for sure. I know that's an obvious choice...for a good reason...it's only one the best solos EVER.

Why yes, yes it is. Soaring and melodic. It doesn't get much better then that.

I hadn't heard that one, 'till now. :D I hope they're true, too. They looked and sounded like they were having a good time at Crossroads 2007. Clapton introduces Robbie the same way Robbie Introduced Eric on The Last Waltz. "Play Guitar?"
