Hey guys, please excuse my newbie playing here. This is my very first record and attempt to improvise with a backing track after I've learned the A minor pentatonic scale. It's not like the original, it's all improvised. Probably a bit dull sounding, and there were mistakes. But any suggestions or comments will be much appreciated. It would be nice if it's a positive comment please leave it under the video on Youtube if my playing isn't that bad, and click like too haha XD Thank You Very Much For Viewing. Cheers :-)

That's a great start, well done! :D You seem to be very creative with the lead-as your technique improves in the future you will be able to exploit this more, and play exactly what you hear in your head.

I liked your cat too

jimmy, i thought your playing was very good and your tone was also very good. backing tracks is an excellent tool and i'd like to hear you experiment with some slow stuff like "stormy monday" or something like it. i also thought the bends sounded good.
the cat wants a belly scratch.
good job jimmy.

your bends were right in tune and the playing was tasteful. I had a teacher who said the following to me, and it always stuck with me to this day (although my demos might seem otherwise, lol):

"It's always better to play slow and clean than fast and sloppy"

I think your playing represents that approach very well.

thanks mate! after listening to my own record a few times, I thought the tone wasn't very good myself though. I think there were a bit too much distortion? Maybe I should go for a cleaner sound next time. I'm playing a Fender Strat single coil and not Gibson humbucker anyways XD and man I just checked out the song "stormy monday" by Cream, I'm loving it !!! Maybe this will be my next song to cover :P thanks for introducing it to me! Just gotta find out where I can learn the song... haha I'll give me cat a few scratch ;)

oh glad to hear my bends are in tune now ^_^ I used to not bend them in tune and others told me abt it, so I kept practicing my bends XD It still goes out of tune once in a while though >< btw I always hear others say that quote quite often! I totally agree with that (Y) I'm not sure my licks sound more of like a blues or country now lol

I like this version too:

The original version was T-Bone Walker's "Call It Stormy Monday (But Tuesday Is Just As Bad)"

Nice!!! so I can use this as a backing track eh http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FaW7FnYqsWs But I have a question, can I use G Minor Pentatonic Scale to improvise through the whole backing track? Or I have to change to G Major Pentatonic scale sometimes?
