I do have a FB account and it's linked to my music. I have a grand total of 37 friends on there, all of them actual friends or family. We share pictures and commentary and I find it enjoyable, but I probably don't log more than an hour a week most of the time.

As far as cell phones, I've had a cell phone for a long time. When you live in northern Minnesota and you're driving home at 3 mph on an inch of solid ice, you want a freaking cell phone close at hand. They're also quite handy right after you hit a deer head on about midnight, ice or no ice.

Everything to its purpose - use as needed. Ignore often. No text, no cell phone internet, just calls... if I feel like talking.

I'm not on it, but have no philosophical opposition to it. My wife is on and has reconnected with a number of friends.It has been a very positive experience.

Like anything, if it becomes an obsession (as it does with some people) it becomes problematic.

Maybe its because your a pissed off kitty with a machine gun.

I remember when we were free!

I love my GPS, it's so handy for getting to gigs easily. I'm on the east coast and play places like Manhattan, Long Island, Brooklyn, Staten Island, etc. The roads are really dense and tangled around here; it makes my life so much easier!

Since I was a kid (17), I've had to find my way to construction sites up and down the country. This was long before the days of Google Maps. I developed this ability to just go, more or less, straight to the job. Sniffed my way there, or as I like to call it, used the force.

Now though, I use a SatNav. Great inventions for getting about the place. It winds me up though when you see people using them to go to the same supermarket that they go to every week.
That just encourages zombie driving. People driving without thinking. It's not safe.

Like those morons with there head down texting at 75 miles an hour while 3 feet behind another car? I have seen people applying makeup, eating a tv dinner and Changing their pants going down the highway! This is sick, but these people need to have an accident before they plow down some kid on a bike. something severe enough to prevent them from ever driving again.

I'm not on Facebook, alas. I couldn't correctly answer the skill testing questions.
I do, however, have a cellphone. I use it for emergencies. Luckily for me I've also got a landline phone which I used in a recent emergency where I had to find my cellphone.

i hate FB. when i think of a "friend", i think of someone who will tell you have a booger hanging from your nose, not someone who simply hits a button on a keyboard. i'm sure it is great for some folks. not for me. ask all your "friends" on FB to help you move and see who shows up. maybe i have a differnt' definition of friend.
my cell phone is owned by the company i work for. i curse each time it rings. yep, an old fashioned ring and not some annoying "cool" downloaded ring tone.
GPS. really cool. some computer lady telling me when to change lanes despite the current traffic conditions. like Nikki, i work construction and the locations don't really have a true address yet. i call the super and get directions or at least an intersection. not hard to spot new construction unless your looking at a GPS screen.
technology is great i guess. i think it is indirectly producing alot of lazy arsed folks. ya'll have fun with it. i need to balance my checkbook but i can't find my abicus.

I don't need FB, and doing fine without it thank you.

Unfortuanetley, yes I do. Overuse of social networks is the plauge of this generation. People sold their souls to sites like facebook and myface or whatever the sites called a long time ago. They silently steal your social skills, and overall intelligence and creativity. Basically, if you overuse it, it's gonna shrivel up your brain.
Relative to the people I know, I dont use it much. I dont consistentley ask people I dont even know for 'inboxes' or for someone to 'facebook marry' me. I only use it for certaint groups, to meet up with a mate and to show my friends my poetry/writting/drawings.
