I've tried all of the serial number lookups that have been listed on this board, and I can't find the serial number anywhere for my guitar. I'm wanting to know what year it was made and maybe even where it was made. I'm also trying to find out about what it might be worth. I just recently received this guitar.

The model number is F-5-12, and the serial number is Y12153. It's a 12 string guitar.

Any help you can provide will be greatly appreciated!

Are you sure it's a Fender? Fender owns Guild and Guild makes/made a jumbo 12 string, the F512.

It's a Fender. I'm sure of that much anyway.

Sorry man, never heard of it and I can't find any reference to it anywhere.
Try the support link at the top of the page to ask Fender about it.

Fender F-5 12 String models were made in the early 80's. I'm not sure for how many years they were made or when they started making them.

Just posting to help anyone who might come across this thread like I did.

I have the Fender F-5 model which is the same model only six strings, not twelve. My serial number begins with Y#####. It is a really great guitar.

Both of these models were only made in 1980-1981. I couldn’t figure the country of origin as it’s not written on the guitar anywhere that I can see.
I talked to fender customer support and they confirmed that they actually can’t identify which year these guitars were made by the serial number. So it’s either 80’ or 81’. But he did confirm that they were all made in Japan.

Hope this helps anyone who might find this in the future.
