This week I picked up a book by someone who was close enough to Jimi to be able to separate the bullshit from the facts.Jimi's brother Leon has finally broken his 40 year silence and had written a book about his brother.I've been hoping ever since Jimi's death that Leon would get his shiq together and write what really happened inside of Jimi's Inner Sanctum and how a non-related Janie-Come-Lately gained control of his substantial inheritance when his 4 siblings got SFA.

I've long been on the anti-Janie bandwagon because I've always been suspect as to how she gained full control of Experience Hendrix LLC while Jimi's father Al was in failing health and probably not completely lucid at all times and especially while his siblings were left with nothing.Hopefully Leon has beaten his internal demons and has written this book with a clear mind and the truth about the goings on will finally be brought to light.

Truth is,that all of the Hendrix family seemed to have done nothing on their own or ever would have if it weren't for Jimi.....you won't read an unbiased book on him anywhere.

The truth about Hendrix. That he would still likely be unknown were it not for the circumstances of that time.
If he'd been found doing that stuff a couple of years before, he'd have been rejected by everyone.

I reckon thats the truth about Hendrix.

Billy Cox has said that when Hendrix was gigging around Nashville,people thought he was nuts....he said he made a real long guitar cable and would walk out of the door of a club they were playing in and be playing on the sidewalk.

Hubert Sumlin was the laddo who first came up with that one RS.

Reading that stuff on Leon. Dear oh dear, reading between the lines it looks to me like Al Hendericks had him sussed out from the beginning. What a wastrel.

That's really true! I've been fortunate to have talked to many people who were around Jimi, and most agree that he was basically a 'loner'. Really, the ones who knew best, were his girlfriends, Billy Cox & Eddie Kramer.

I have a friend in that lives in Chicago, whose aunt lives in Nashville. He told a few years back that while visiting her, she showed him photo album with pictures her from when she danced in clubs. In many of the pictures, there was her, and Jimi Hendrix. She dated Jimi most the time when he lived in Nashville.

The last time I was invited to Gibson Guitar Summer Guitar Jam in Nashville, I got the chance to talk with her. The stories in themselves weren't amazing, basically how Jimi would play, etc, etc...but just to talk with her was a thrill for me.

Like I posted before, I've talked to Billy Cox a few times, and boy, oh boy, does he have some stories.

Lastly, I've talked with Eddie Kramer quite a few times. I first met him back in 2005 at the first NAMM I was able to attend. He was finishing breakfast and I walked over to his table and told how much I loved Jimi's music, and the engineering that Kramer did on the albums. He invited me to sit with him.

That was the first of many talks I've had with him.

One of the best stories about Jimi that Billy Cox has told,is about him going to see a girl near Springfield,Tn. around 2 or 3am...and while he was walking down a dirt road carrying his guitar,... a pickup truck with 2 or 3 rednecks pulls up and start harrassing him,he takes out running and hid in a cornfield,while they were looking for him,and Jimi laid on top of his guitar until the guys left....scared to death!

Thanks for posting the link,I figured that anything between Leon and Janie would end up being a he said she said situation.I have always been a bit more than suspect about Janie getting control of Jimi's entire fortune especially when Jimi hardly knew her and where she refers to him as her "big brother" and the fond memories that she has of him-give me a break.No matter what demons Leon has been fighting in the past he is still Jimi's flesh and blood as are the others yet Janie gets control over the whole shebang-there seems to be something very fishy about the whole affair.I think that she's nothing more than an opportunistic mercenary who saw the vast fortune that could possibly be hers if she played her cards right and she saw fit to take advantage of Al's failing health and possibly failing mental state and got him to sign over Jimi's whole estate to her.I can't prove that and it's only speculation on my part but it's a very very strong gut feeling that I have and have had for a long time.

Perhaps the one person who knew all three of em decided that she was the better person to pick to run the show.

Oh and Leon sold his share back to his dad before he even got it. How could Al then go and leave Leon his share in his will? Imagine how you'd feel as Janie Hendericks in that situation.
