You should have taken that into account before you did anything and gotten the proper tuners for the guitar. It isn't Fender or Stewmac's fault. You ordered the product, you got what you asked for.

I'm pretty sure you can ask for measurements if they aren't included in a product's description already. I'm not giving you mouth either. I'm giving you realistic advice for future parts orders.

Are you kidding me? You had the product in person and you didn't look at it? Can you at least return them or ask the store with ones that are of an even height, like standard MIM ones? Not to be harsh, but you should look at the product and take measurements. It will save you so much grief.

I know, but standard MIM tuners are the 2 prong ones and they're all even in height.

I understand that. I read it. I just offered a suggestion. The MIM ones are all even height on the pegs. If you want to be able to play, go back to the shop, explain your situation, be humble, say it was an honest mistake and that you weren't sure what you were getting into, and ask if you can actually put different sets of tuners on your guitar to know what the right set for you is.

I don't think you're really understanding what I'm saying, but to be clear, you made the mistake, not Fender, not Stewmac, not your local store. You didn't look at the product or your headstock.

What I'm saying is, return the tuners (if you can) and ask your local store what the best fit for your guitar would be.

Forget it, Buxom. It's pointless to argue with a know-it-all.

I've had similar experiences. Haven't had one in a few years because I took my own advice.

SK, do you even care about money? (from another thread)

The "fack" that you wasted yours on a set of tuners without knowing if they would fit your guitar. I guess you don't value money at all. People who have common sense (such as myself) inspect things we want before we buy them.

If you didn't do any damage to the tuners, you should be able to exchange them for ones that fit. Take one of the old ones with you to compare.

But this isn't Fender or SM's fault. It's your responsibility to know exactly what will work.

thank you for your civilized reply.

The only one responding in an uncivilized manner was you, because you did not want to feel like you are to blame for this f*** up. Take into account the fact that you have a pre-existing bias against just about anything Buxom could ever say, and it's not at all surprising that you would be so "butthurt" (for lack of a better, more applicable term) right off the bat. He gave good responses, and you got pissed because it wasn't what you wanted to hear and it was from someone you routinely disagree with.

I don't see a problem. The High E tuner is low, just as it is on my American Deluxe that has locking staggered tuners.

It's better to be P'd off then P'd on.

As always, this is merely IMO where I truly hope YMM doesn't V. 8)
