One of my best videos, I'm the one in the black shirt with the Fender HSS Strat and my best friend Brandon is the one with the black guitar. I play more metal-oriented shred, and he plays bluesy sort of classic rock.
Thought you guys might enjoy it, especially my beauty of a Strat. What do you think of the video? Comments, and opinions are welcome and appreciated!
Cheers!

To be honest, the notes are way too random from both of you. It seems more like both of you are seeing who can pick the fastest regardless of notes and flow. I kept listening for lick knowledge and some type of uniformity so I could pick a winner. I just never heard it. You seem to have a fast pick and your left hand fingers have some speed. I think you should increase your musical vocabulary and bring that into your speed. It would sound better. It's a tie as of right now.....although I liked the tone of Brandon when he went to the classic Jimi tone for a couple of minutes.....note selection, not so much. I'm being brutally honest to help you guys, not to put you down so don't take it the wrong way.

Thank you for the input. I think we were decent in this vid but not our best. I play alot better when I play slower but I've gotten alot better since this vid of playing notes with way more accuracy at higher speeds. I love shredding and playing faster, which was one of the first things I trained myself to do with alternate picking and some economy picking, and I think it paid off. Step two was learning to make the speed sound better instead of just hitting random notes. I think it's paid off in spades. I'll try to post a newer video soon.
Cheers!

I've seen few shredders that are as fast as most finger pickers such as Albert Lee. No "economy of motion", hi gain shredding is going to keep up with several fingers going at it.

:P

Cheers
