Chorus pedal? I don't use one.

But back in the day, I had one and would occasionally use it for clean rhythms and stuff, but that was it. Chorus is the worlds most overused pedal of them all. Every guitarist back in the 80's had one. It was required... :roll:

Also, a lot of the amps of that era had built-in chorus instead of tremolo.
You're right. At that time, chorus was everywhere.

For a Leslie/rotary speaker emulator effect the Tech 21 NYC RotoChoir is about the most realistic simulator on the market.It copies every aspect of an actual Leslie's performance from ramping up speed gradually when first engaged to slowing down gradually when turned off or just changed to slow.Amazingly the pedal simulates the overdrive growl and "key-click" of a real Hammond organ through a Leslie also.With 10 controls of various types the adjustability of this pedal and the variations in sounds,speed etc. the possibilities are practically endless. I've been having such a great time playing with my RotoChoir that I still didn't take the time to use it with my organ,synthesizer or keyboard.I know that it does a better job than my old Leslie Model 16 for playing songs like Angel,Hey Baby(New Rising Sun) and Little Wing plus it's about 80 lbs lighter.Speaking of weight,the pedal only weighs about a pound and is about the same size of an Electro Harmonix Small Stone pedal.It is a bit pricey at about $225 US but considering the advantages over the real Leslie by being so much lighter and smaller and the dazzling performance of it,it is a great bargain.

I have this as well, which is a great rotary speaker simulator, but its a bit too big for my board.

That Korg G4 rotary sim has become legendary. Never mind guitarists, many keyboard players would bite your hand off for that beauty and probably offer you large amounts of cash..

As for chorus pedals, I use an EHX Small Clone. It's a pain in the neck: wobbles on its dodgy cheap metal base and it won't take a standard centre negative 9v power supply so it's always on batteries. And it's brilliant - 3D sound that rules my board despite my owning chorus pedals that cost 2.5 times as much and with much more control. I kick it on and I'm instantly Robert Cray..

Boss CE-5, i mean really Boss is the go to company whenever you have a plethora of pedals companies releasing tempting but uncertain products. I have heard that the Holy Grail by Electro Harmonix is pretty much a standard now amongst modern rock artisits, and Kurdt Kobane used a EH Small Clone. John Frusciante, who has a better spacey tone uses the Boss CE-1, which led me to find and buy the CE-5. But if you have a modeling amp, then $@!& buying a chorus pedal, I mean the only versatility it possesses is the potential to emphasize chords, space out licks, and create a tremolo effect with really low rate. Just save up and get a Memory Man

I had a Boss Superchorus CH-1. I got rid of it, because I had to application for it back then. Ironically, the guy who gave it to me, gave it to me for the same reason, and he said he had a grunge pedal, but he couldn't find it. I'd take the grunge pedal so fast ;-;
