Just found out this morning.

http://www.nytimes.com/2012/05/30/arts/ ... at-89.html

This is a great loss to me personally, Doc was a HUGE influence on my early guitar playing and has been a inspiration ever since. I have seen Doc many times, including with his late son Merle, and had honor of meeting him and shaking his hand. The loss of another great musical hero, seems like so many lately.

A shame, one of my fave things was hearing Doc sing and pick 'Deep River Blues'

Truly one of the greatest and a sad loss.

What a shame, another bluesman I never heard about. RIP Doc Watson.

Doc has always been one of my favorites. "Elementery Doc Watson" is one of my all time favorite albums. This is very sad news :( .
