im not a fan of slinkies either. i dont know what strings i have at the mo, i dont really pay much attention as i dont notice a huge amount of difference. all i've noticed is that i dont like slinkies, and i thought the fender bullets were really good, but i cant get them locally anymore.

D'Addarios & Ernie Balls.

I am experimenting with factory sets of:
8s 9s 10s 11s

Also, with the 3rd & 4th wound
and with the 3rd & 4th un-wound.

I've been hearing good things about Elixirs.
Gotta try them someday soon.
Gotta wear out too many others first, ASAP.
Gotta practice more to get to the Elixirs

I'm finding that each guitar based on; wood, electronics, tuning, and setup responds better with some brands and gauges, but not others, and then one string brand and gauge hits the sweet spot on each guitar, some guitars responding better with worn in strings, some better with more frequent changes.

Lots of options!
Fun to experiment.
How many guitars do you have to experiment with?

Fender Pure Nickels on my Strat.

Gibson Vintage Pure Nickels on my Gibson.

Pretty much pure nickel on everything. Just seems to have the perfect tone to me. But I would like to try some of those cobalt strings, heard lots of good things about those.
