My style is a blend of my influences with my own flavor thrown in.

I'd say :
40% Otis Rush
30% Buddy Guy
15% Mike Bloomfield
15% Joe Bonamassa

Let's see.....
Old 410 Classic Magnatone, reworked/rebuilt/remodded/personalized Stratopartsters, direct into amp " NO " gadgets, a love for acoustic fingerstyle as well as classical and an appreciation of most bands from both sides of the pond from the 60's to the present......

I sound like me and am always searching for clarity and definition of what I want to hear.
Emulate any one .... :? No Thank You....
Which probably explains as to why you could not drag me to go hear any tribute band....

Most of my originals (well, I think...) are raw garage blues, with the occasional sludge thrown in and a good majority of them are just downright depressing (to be blunt, atleast...). I have a real lot of influences, Eddie Vedder's ryhthm technique, Jack White's simple raw riffs, Fugazi for their odd and off sounding chord structure's, what Robert Johnson can do just with a acoustic and his voice....

The list goes on.

Pearl Jam's guitarists were big influences on me. Their playing was an influence, but what I really picked up from them is their songwriting. They introduced me to the pedal point, which I almost overuse in my own compositions (Now I realize the Beatles use it but I didn't realize it at the time.) Funny thing is that once I was watching a Neil Young video (I like Neil Young but I haven't heard much of his stuff and I'm not a big fan, and I had never heard this song before) and could hear a little bit of me in his playing. I deducted that Neil influenced Pearl Jam and those influences trickled down to me.

And Fugazi is an underrated band. Their guitar can be percussive at times. I saw them back in 1998 at the cafeteria at Hendrix College in Arkansas for $4. They were good but way too loud for the tiny venue they were playing in. I would like to see them in a good venue like Cain's or New Daisy Theater.

Hmmm... As far as sound and/or influences, I guess out of all the famous guitarists, I sound like Eric Clapton.

Played a gig at a local jazz club with my fusion band a couple of years ago, and someone came up to me afterwards and said I sounded just like a more fiery Larry Carlton.

As much as I pride myself on sounding like me, I was rather flattered by that comment, personally.

It depends on the guitar I'm using and the material. On originals I sound like myself. When playing AC/DC and using my white P-bass (now it has an American flag decal covering it) I sound like Cliff Williams, when playing Jimi Hendrix Experience covers and using my red P-bass I sound like Noel Redding and so forth. I try to sound like the original players when playing their songs otherwise on my bands material, hopefully, listeners can tell that it's me.

Well, in my case it depends on whether I play a cover or an original song of mine.

With covers I try to sound as close as possible to the original version.
Example:

My La Grange cover (ZZ Top)
http://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=4137593

Then there's music inspired by my favorite bands like this one. Especially the middle part sounds much like Status Quo, one of my faves since the mid 70s:
It's called "Moby'n'Pete"
http://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=4122476

Then again there's songs where I just let out all the feelings I have at that moment and I guess that's just me being me in my music, like in this one:
"Go To Hell!"
http://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=4122456

So, please decide for yourself whom my music reminds you of. I guess even in Covers there's quite some amount of my own style included!?!?!?

If Raymond in Rainman and Bubba, Forest Gump's bestest friend, ever had a love child that played guitar......I think he'd sound like me but with more shrimp and numbers.

allright, allright... I've been told I sound like Ian Anderson when I play my acoustic, but, this person was not a musician.
I've also been told more than once I sound like Eric Clapton... nowhere near that good either.
I'll take all the compliments I can get.
Whether or not I truely deserve them is another story. 8)

ditto on the self-analysis - yuk!
