Okay guys, I got a chance to play around a little more with the Tribute and now I've added my 57 Dano U1. I also did a shot of the back of the Dano's neck too just to show all the relicing the trash can did that my friend found it in. It's a really fun great sounding guitar. I don't worry about scratching it.
Now the Tribute is a little closer to the real color and I got the background a little more under control.
Sometimes I get a little time to work on some fun stuff.

I had a single pickup danelectro with the double cut away. The D had faded turning it into an anelectro. :)

The Les Paul in the first pic: why do some people do that with the bridge? put the strings over instead of the regular way? I've seen lots of people who play LP's do that and i've often wondered why? Better angle to go over the saddles meaning less string breakage? IDK, why do they do that?

Hi Gorgon, here goes the explanation. When you get a Les Paul the tailpiece is about a half inch off the body. Players like Duane Allman, Peter Green, Jimmy Page, Joe Bonamassa figure if you screw the tailpiece down so it touches the body, you get more sustain and better intonation. Actually, I might hear a slight increase in sustain, but my guitar never had any intonation problems to begin with. Mostly, it's a little more comfortable for me to play and I like the look.
A friend of mine swears by it. He's a seriously great player, session guy, total professional and has the chop and tone to sell your soul for. He does it to all his Gibson guitars including his ES-335. He's the one who told me to try it.

The answer is in your own ears I guess.
