A few months ago Groupon had a deal on the LG 60" plasma 3D HDTV 'Smart TV' for $1299/w free shipping. After much internal debate, I brought one, and am glad I did. It's awesome!

Our home has a huge basement and we (well she) had a Panasonic 62" rear projection HDTV in the basement, and another rear projection Panasonic 52" in the family room. When I moved in I brought my 48" Toshiba LCD.

Well, her daughter's analog TV went out, and I told her to give her daughter the 52", and I'll put my Toshiba in the family room. The convergence and color was way out of calibration in the Panasonic. I tweaked both, but the TV had been bumped too many times to really get a optimal picture ( I was glad to see it go).

About a week after giving the TV away, the TV in the basement burnt out, I mean literally burnt out. I used that set to watch live concerts on DVD and to play along with them. I had to start luggin' my Mustang and a guitar upstairs to play with shows, so I really 'needed' a TV in the basement.

I had to buy glasses, and a 3D Blu-ray player, but for me it was worth it. I have a copy of 'Avatar' in 3D, and it looks awesome, and I have 'TRON Legacy-3D' and the picture just blew me away'.

I also have the ESPN-3D channel http://espn.go.com/3d/, you have not watched a soccer game or tennis match on TV, until you've seen one in 3D. I can't wait until football season!

Ahh, a couple months ago I got a new TV. One of the best decisions ever. It's a bit small, only a 50" Samsung :P

Enjoy it though!

My copy of Joe Satriani's live 'Satchurated: Live in Montreal [Blu-ray 2D/3D]' http://tinyurl.com/6mlu3y3 came yesterday and it's another awesome 3D experience.
