These are the symptoms, and I hope some wise men can give me some advices.

*I was going to post it with a link to the sound sample, but I found out that the noise is somehow lost after the uploading (probably due to the transcoding(?) for streaming), and also when I convert the wave file into mp3(320k).

_I think it's the first clue for the noise frequency, right?

2)
You know the expected noise on single coils guitars when you touch the metal parts of the guitar-switch nob or where you plug input-jack(?i don't know the right word for it;;),
IT HAPPENS when I touch the pickguard as if the plastic pickguard is conductor (it's not, right? given it's made of poly-something), I can understand if it has static.

3)
I own a Boss Micro BR, and I hear the noise very clear and loud through headphones (ran on batteries, just in case, to rule out the factors), then through an amp- Ibanez IBX150R in different location, but when I went to repairshop, the noise wasn't there. I couldn't demonstrate the problem of my guitar so the nice tech guy just let me go;; then I went to another shop, and ....some thing happened, this time, even the usual noise was not there. Geez;;

4)
The noise dies away if I turn the tone knob to 0, but if it's not, the noise comes back.

Any ideas? All I can think of is "Shielding" because I don't have much experience with the electronics. Or Should I do "electronics-setting" ?

The noise is coming through your guitar but the guitar may not be the source of the noise. Lots of things generate EM, florescent lighting, dimmers, power lines, etc.

Turn the volume down on your guitar to make sure the noise goes away. Check the grounding in your guitar and get a 100% shielded instrument cable. If that doesn't help then shield the guitar.

Thanks for your opinion.

I tried with different cables and batteries. Hence, ruled out the possibility of ground noise.

And the noise dies out when I turn off the Tone to 0.

I think the pickguard is not shielded at all. I will have to get copper tape, for my first DIY shielding! (I'll have to make time for that soon) I wish I had more knowledge on this electronics stuff. Then I can change the pickup myself!

Thanks!
I've tried four repair shops, all the technicians recommended me not to do anything. Saying:
"that's not something you can fix" or " Shielding will take away your highs(?)" ,,,
Spent me four visit to different places for me to accept the problem rather than fixing it.

Then, yesterday, it was damp.. unpleasantly humid. I was checking my new cables ordered online, then noise wasn't there, I couldn't even reproduce the noise under different circumstances, then used my old cables, and NOPE , no noise.

I guess it was static electricity that was always there on the pickguard for some reason-dry weather, my dry skin (??), or my having more electricity than normal person (?lol)

So, before try the shielding, I might as well put on some lotion or something on the pickguard to keep off the static electricity. (ergh ; I hate the idea but if it works :p oh well)

How about a case humidifer? Simple fix really, just take a clean sponge and a zip lock bag, punch some holes near the top of the bag, moisten the sponge put it in the bag and put the bag in the case.
Cheers,
John.E

thanks, but I don't think I will use that method just to make pickguard less dry,
considering other wood, metal parts and all. But thanks anyway: )
