People just like to be able to stay in contact with their friends. I don't see the problem with that.

I think it gose without saying that the Internet is one of the most useful tools in the shed. The first thing you need to do is to educate yourself in it's proper use, then use it wisely, and to your own advantage. Like most other tools, the Internet isn't without it's dangerous side, and can become a menace to the unsuspecting user. The old adage "Don't believe anything you here and only half of what you see" doesn't apply hear. I don't believe anything on the Internet/Social Media or news. I gather ideas, do my own research, form my own opinions, and make my own decisions. Is the Internet a good thing? Yep! Just use it wisely. 8)

Never go to 4Chan. You'll regret it.

I could quit the Internet, but why? I am not addicted to it. I do not have to have it. Now stop playing guitars is a little harder. I am a guitaraholic and will be for the rest of my life.

The internet has become as much a part of my life as
any other material thing.

I use browser based apps with graphics and like having that
ability to enhance photos. I have over 500 songs posted on various
websites and submit others for various reasons. I collaborate with
people from all over the world thanks to the web. I enjoy music,
guitar and recording forums...and some health/medical forums. I
keep in touch with fellow cancer survivors and others who are just
finding out that they have cancer through my blog and emails. I have
video calls (skype/facetime) with friends and relatives all over the world.
I'm not on Facebook, but I'm LinkedIn and have a Twitter feed and
YouTube feed.

These are just some of the things that I find using the internet
as a tool - it's amazing and I never had it for the first 50 years
of my life, so I'm using it and enjoying it now as much as I can.

That just the way it rolls...for me. :!:

Yes but when more people than there were on the planet 200 years ago obsesivley rely on it to casually 'chat' with there mate thats only on the other block rather than going and actually talking to them face to face, then it's a bit of a problem.
