:D ...at Iridium in NYC (the early show; my late-show days are sadly behind me, I would say). Walter and his band in that small, intimate room were like a thundering tank being driven through a tiny doorway, and I mean that in the best way. They played pretty much exclusively stuff from Walter's new CD (all original blues songs); I love his approach to playing blues - he's got chops like the best of the hard rock guys but with a real sense of how to make a note sing and how to navigate a blues progression. Walter played a beat-up strat thru a Mesa Boogie for all but one song, and his tone was HUGE.
Walter hung around to sign CDs; got myself a signed CD that he personalized to me instead of just scrawling his name (that's all it takes to make me happy) plus a handshake and a few words, which really shows what an honest, sincere guy he is.
He's there all weekend if anyone is interested. Highly recommended.

Agree - he is a great player ! I am sure it was that old beaten up yellowish strat I've always seen him with....
