Made a couple videos of my single.

The beginnings of both videos got cut off. Not too good, but they're mic'd. Very rough cuts of stuff I wrote a couple days ago. Not sure for actual titles, but the ones I put do a good enough job. And don't ask about the silly hats, just kinda happened.

Also, the other videos on my channel was stuff made for friends. Browse at your own risk.

Ah, yes, that's a pretty exceptional guitar - a Guild DeArmond I bought from my playing partner a while back, complete with original hardshell case. I have developed a thing for humbuckers and set necks of late and this solid mahogany gem has both.

He had bought it with a Bigsby on it, but I didn't want the Bigsby. Luckily, the first owner was smart enough to save the original tailpiece, so I could put it back on. Some guitars should stay stock.

This has the original Guild USA Gold Foil humbuckers on it. This guitar is a bit heavy at 9.7 pounds, but I have a strong shoulder. It sounds just as pretty as it looks.

It's really quite something. It's like a museum piece, only it isn't a museum piece.

And that incredible blue color changes under different lights, which is also pretty amazing. In the pics it is outdoors under a heavily overcast sky to cut down on shadows.

Reminds me of this lavender colored 62 Thunderbird I saw at a car show. It was beautiful. It had that rare kinda factory paint that changes to white when you get right up on it.

It's on that level of prettiness.

Going in a slightly different direction, I got a call yesterday from my guitar playing partner, telling me that he was on his way to GC to trade in four more of his guitars and if I wanted any of them, I'd best meet him quickly in the GC parking lot. Not that I needed another guitar, but when he told me he was dumping his FlameKat, I figured I should take another look at it.

So here's the latest addition to my Music Room Singles Club. I play a little rockabilly these days and if this guitar doesn't scream ROCKABILLY, what guitar does? This is a 1999 model, first year Epiphone offered this guitar - production ceased in 2005-6. They are pretty rare and hard to find and this one is in near-mint condition, complete with original Epi hardshell case.

That one is pretty ridiculous for my tastes, but it does scream rockabilly. I live the chrome logo Epis.

I prefer the term "garish" rather than "ridiculous." That is a stock photo - haven't had time to shoot any photos of the guitar in my hands. My partner did, however, remove the red dice knobs and replaced them with black Gibson knobs with chrome buttons - the dice were a little over the top, but now they are in a zip-lock bag in the case compartment. I like the guitar with the less ostentatious Gibby knobs - the flames and chrome are rockabilly enough!

The dice knobs and switch tip are what put it over the top. Glad to see them go?

Gee whiz, kid, can't you take another picture of that Copperburst without all the finger grime on it? I get queasy every time I see that picture... :?
