are factory blemish/second's legitimately sold? I mean does the factory actually allow them to leave or are they stolen from the dumpster?

Hi SBD: early in the days of the Forum we were told by a Fender employee (can't remember who) that Fender never sell seconds, unlike some other makers. Add that to a buy it now price of $65 and I'd be very sceptical about this sale. And my scepticism deepens as I try to imagine how a factory dud is finding its way from Corona to New Jersey - if it was stolen from a dumpster the guy sure made a long round journey.

You could draw it to the attention of Bob in Customer Services and see what he says, perhaps? Unless he says its kosher I wouldn't touch it with a barge pole. $65 doesn't even buy you a fake Strat body that's worth the time of day.

that's what I was thinking, but not much work left for a quality piece of wood if its legit.

I asked the seller how he came in possession of these, but I doubt I will get the truth

It's not a bad looking body grain wise.....BUT...my concern would be with the routed out sections for bridge and pups...Not to mention the most critical spec is the neck pocket.
No way to tell if the depth and width are correct, so even though it may look like a bargain, it may be not up to specs when ready to be joined to a neck.

In addition that since it is being advertised as a genuine Fender...I would also pass with the utmost urgency...
