They don't look much different to a 6 string bridge. Just modify a standard pickguard with some files and sandpaper. It's not hard.

just lay the original one over a new one and trace and trim. if you take your time you won't be able to tell.

I didn't specify about the floyd guard because if it fits it would not fit the contour of the bridge properly. so either way you will need to trim it somewhere to get it to look rite.

and if my memory serves me correctly I think the floyd cut pick guard is only a 1/4 inch wider than a standard on each side. by the looks of that bridge I do not think it will fit, but i could be wrong.

actually looking closer it might just fit. if it does there will be a small gap at the corners where the floyd would normally be.

Buy an 11 screw pickguard for a six string, remove the original pickguard and store it ( don't throw it away as it will devalue the guitar if you want to sell it in the future and original parts are missing. )
lay the original over the new and trace the contour of the tailpiece with a blue Sharpie pen.
There shouldn't be too big of a difference. with some patience it should only take you a couple of hours max to file away to the new contours.
Use a file with a rounded contour on one side and you may have to get a round file in addition for the corners.
you should be able to get a couple of files at any hardware store for less than $15
Ask a store rep to aid you in selecting the correct tooth size on the file for plastic.
It's an easy mod, it was one of the 1st mods I ever did to my guitars long ago.

A Floyd rose pickguard will cost more since it would be routed out for the Floyd setup.
You are going to have to file the pickguard to fit so buying the same thing with a more expensive feature that you will eliminate doesn't make sense...
Also make sure of the pickguard screw hole number. it should be either an 11 or 8 but neither fit the other's screw pattern.

JUST DO EET.... :!: :!:

BTW....As far as people not helping much...That is uncalled for... :?
Strats and Tele's were designed to be taken apart and reassembled by the musicians who play them. If you don't want to bother doing this then have it done by a tech at a shop but it will cost you three or four times what it would if you do it yourself.
That is the choice...so if you ask for advice..on the net that is what you got.
Hope you weren't expecting someone to get on their magic carpet and zip up to you and mod your new acquisition.....
Don't complain or rant when you receive multiple responses on what you asked for...

That is about as lively as i need a guitar to be.
On this one not sure if " Surf's Up" or " Let Em' Run " is the theme... :?:

Let's see--you asked a question no one could know off the top of their head, then you said that we weren't helpful, you insulted Fender for being too traditional, all in less than one page. Then people helped you anyway.

Hmm, you really need to learn some social graces, Jake...or maybe do some research on your own.

Fair enough. I probably shouldn't have snapped at you, either. I just find it irritating when a person asks a question and then gets a bit miffed if he's not given the answer he wants.

I agree that it would be nice if Fender gave more options, especially accessory-wise. However, with less than $70 in accessories, I was able to make my Strat look really unique, "one of a kind" and more expensive. After investing another $150 in pups and wiring, I made it even more unique (sound-wise); so, with that small amount (that I didn't immediately have to pay--the guitar was good when it was stock, too), I have an axe that looks like something from the Custom Shop and sounds like no other.

Likewise, I've seen pics of your Strat, and while that color and pickup combination is your idea of the "perfect" Strat, I daresay that there wouldn't be too many people clamoring for that particular finished product (that's not meant to be an insult; it's just a very unique look that would appeal to a very small, select group). But I bet you didn't have to invest a fortune to turn that Highway 1 into your dream axe; just a couple hundred bucks, and you were set cosmetically.

Considering how easy (and cheap) it is to customize a guitar nowadays--Rather than more factory-installed choices in accessories, I would like to see more models like the Strat XII or the Fender VI in production (both are on my very short GAS list). I think the various Pawn Shop models are trying to address some of the requests for "unique" or "less traditional" guitars, but only time will tell if those are a success and/or if they're permanently in the production line.

LudNuts...are you color blind...??
By this I mean do you see colors differently than the accepted norm.
The color contrasting schemes you pick are very much like what I used to pick when i was young and my mom would comment " Isn't that just a bit Loud  :?: " I would reply to the contrary " Not at all, it's rather subdued.... "

I never thought I saw certain colors differently, especially when combined until I took my preliminary tests for flight school in the USAF...

Cheers

Ludnuts,

Have you tried to call or e-mail a custom direct supplier (like Warmoth or other aftermarket company) about your request? They may be able to do it for you.

I would buy one for a Standard, use the original as a template and trace the bridge portion of the the orginal pickguard. You could also take it to a luthier/tech and have them do it for you as well. Either way you are going to have to pay a little more for a custom job if you do not do it yourself. Sorry, no sugar coating the obvious.
