Can someone lend some advice. Having put off wiring a pickguard the time has come.

I have a parchment SSS guard that I am mounting (3) 57/62's and a 3 way switch, 3 250k pots and somehow have (3) .22 and (1) .47 capicators in my pile of parts. All my parts are stock Fender products.

For my wiring pattern I am following the Fender "57 vintage Strat" #0100102 posted on the Fender service diagrams support pages.

My questions are:
1. How should the "tone" control distribution work out. The upper knob for neck and the bottom for middle and bridge?

2. The diagram shows a .1uf capicator and mine are .22 and .047. Should I order a .1uf or use one of the ones I have what will I gain or loose?

Thanks in advance, this is totally new territory for me so be gentle!

Traditionally, the bridge is without a tone control. That said, if your fancy adding a tone control to the bridge pickup....

...Just solder in a little jumper (as shown in red above) to make the lower tone control work for both Middle and Bridge pickups.

Personally, I'd go for the 0.022 cap.

Hope this helps!

Andy

Thanks Andy,

Additionally, the diagram shows no ground wire to the claw. should I add one? From the volume case to the claw?
