The wife treated me to the Bonamassa show at the Basie Theater tonight. What a wonderful evening which also included a meet-n-greet before the show. JB signed pickguards for my Explorer and Les Paul which I'm pretty psyched about. We were able to pick up his new CD which is not out yet, but a few copies were somehow smuggled into the venue.

He was in great voice tonight, the band was tight and his playing was great as usual. He did a fun back and forth duel with his drummer. His rig included 4 Marshall heads and I also noticed a Trainwreck head sandwiched in between them which I didn't see at a show in 2010. This was my first event at this venue and it was really nice mid-sized room. Will definitely be catching other acts there. He played just under 2.5 hours straight through with no breaks. He closed out the show playing one of the songs off the new disc on a Tele. He did quite a few guitar changes, I remember 3 les pauls (1 with bigsby). 2 ES-335, a Firebird, some Strat clone, and the Tele. Oh yeah he also broke out a doubleneck SG during that duel with the drummer.

The crowd had great energy and was very into it. A good time was had by all. The wife and I are already looking forward to our next chance to catch Mr B.

Here's a pic of my Explorer with Bonamassa's signature on the pickguard.

I think it looks pretty cool ...

Very cool man. I'm still thinking about that show. I would see him again in a heartbeat.

Thanks guys. I like the way the signature lined up. I only brought the guard for him to sign so I was surprised how great it looks on the guitar.
