Man, I was just going through the active members list and theres a few on there that really had an impact on this forum, and have misteriously vanished. I'm fairly certain that way cool jr's been missing for a year now, and i dunno what happened to Negative Creep a couple of months ago, and Ceallach (spelling?) and countless other members.

It makes you wonder. If I were gonna leave for good, I'd atleast tell you's, as I'm sure 95% of the members would. They just dissapeared :?

If anyone that has been an active poster on this forum but is hiding in the shadows is reading this, please post to show that you haven't gone into the wild with nothing to get away from society or something along those lines.

It's the way of forums I'm afraid. People come and go. Peoples lives change, they get busy, interests change and forum participation is an easy thing to drop and maybe come back to. Don't fret. New people will join and add to this great site. I hope I can add something, anything to help out others and contribute here since I am indebted for all the help I have received so far. A lot of the fellas who hang out in the vintage amp forum are very helpful and a wealth of knowledge. Arjay, Art, Beemer and BB to name a few... Thanks.

I remember one of the originals, CryingStrat, and he also just
vanished several years ago. That's just the way it rolls...

Hi Riley: I wouldn't. If I were going to leave I'd just slip off quietly without making a big attention seeking song and dance out of it. Which also leaves open the possibility of slipping back again later if the mood arose.

We're all real people with real lives and it's good to remember that. It's also good to remember that this isn't real life, it's just an internet forum. It's fun and it's positive, but it doesn't matter much in the wider scheme of things.

Anyhow. So long as it stays reasonably friendly I'd like to stick around! Lotta nice real people out there. :D

Cheers - C

Way Cool Jr. announced that he was leaving; he was upset about the "negativity" on the Forum, although quite a bit of it was him making controversial/inaccurate statements and then refusing to back down.

I miss Nevin. He got irritated that nobody responded to a "sound sample" thread and left hurriedly. There must have been something more going on, something else that was upsetting him...I don't know what it was.

As many as I miss, there are just as many I'm glad are gone. I won't name names (Gossamer).

Nevin has announced his departure several times. He comes and goes. Sometimes posting something fantastical on the Legend of Nevin thread is all it takes to summon him back. Like rubbing a genie's lamp!

Of note too is the fact that for those who have been regulars on any given forum for a prolonged period of time, the topics surely repeat themselves. Sure, some topics are always stimulating but to many, they are merely reruns where once they've initially commented on said topic, they're done with it. I've also noticed of late that many topics aren't even worth reading, let alone commenting on.

As always, this is merely IMO where YMMV.

My guess is that most never made a choice that they would no longer visit the forum for one eason or another, they just slipped away as life evolved. Like in life, people come and go from your life without ceremony or announcement.
