Post subject: Humbucker buzz

I put a cover over an open humbucker and it now has a slight buzz when I touch the p/u with my finger. What did I do wrong? It all seemed like such a simple thing to do!

sounds like the cover isn't grounded. you need to solder a wire from the cover to the base plate. or just fill a corner gap with solder making the connection.
