What the hell are they thinking. Instead of a BSA or Royal Enfield, they come up with Funky Moped?

They ought ditch this nonsense. Bloody fridges, motorbikes and even headphones. I mean bloody headphones, what kind of loud is that?

They ought get back to making a couple of styles valve amps. One channel switcher, one single channel.
Do what their good at.

And yeah Nutz me ol mate. I imagine you'd much prefer to get wrapped round that gal than the bike.

Listen to the Ninja, guys! He just gets where I'm coming from! :D

By the way: Headphones is the loudest loud you can get for your ears, and the most damaging. Right up their street! :D

Before I read your reasons for thinking Marshall lost their way, I thought, "No, it can't be--they have one of the most intriguing amps in recent history on the market..." (the 5-watter such as your RAF-accented baby)...

But you're right, slapping your venerated name on a product that doesn't "fit" right off (especially if it's solely in the name of expansion) can eventually be a disaster to that name.

Just ask Cadillac--their brief forays into the small car market. That dressed up Chevy Citation (Cimarron was Cadillac's model name) from a couple of decades ago as well as the Catera a decade ago both damaged their reputation greatly. Only when they went back to making ridiculous, overpriced gas-guzzling vehicles did they quit staggering.

...although I like that refrigerator, even without the girl!

It's wrong, so wrong.

This is more what I have in mind:

Though the truth is, this would be best:

People are always leaving companies and starting up other companies.

I've a feeling Blackstar may be the one you have in mind. Good gear.

in answer to the original question, yes.

Im intruiged by their new 5 watt amps, but apart from that i dont think theyve come out with a decent amp since the jcm900`s. Nearly everything up until that point i loved though. The 800 is still one of the greatest amps ever to me. Id love to have the money to go experimenting with their old plexi amps and their reissues

Didnt know about the blackstar link, but im not suprised. I used a blackstar halfstack a few times at a rehearsal studios i frequent and i cant remember when i was last so impressed by an amp (when did the jcm900 come out? :D)

Oh, and to properly answer re the moped. Yes surely this is the final sign that they have lost it. The many cruddy sounding `modelling amps` and amps with way more buttons than they have decent sounds was one thing.... But as others have said, surely if they were going to do a bike it should at least be a stripped down Hog of a harley or something? In the words of charlie brown, good grief.

 wow, I figured Marshall would make a motor bike more in your face and louder than a Harley Davidson! but a moped? when people see Marshall they think rock and roll, not the same when you see a moped....... Vrmmmmm Ciao! :P
