It is not a Fender but, it sounds alright. It is the second Gibson owned product I got besides my Valve Junior. I tested it out through an AC15 and, it impressed me enough to bring it home. When I get the time I'll run it through my Fenders. Here are some shots of an Ebony Epiphone SG Special.

The Epiphone G-400 would be one step closer to a Gibson than the SG Special, but both are great, enjoy it Juan, gotta love black guitars!

Thank you gents! I still have not changed the strings on it but, I plan on it in the future! Oddly enough, the ones that came with it still have a good ring to them! I feel that is rare for new guitars! I sold my Epi VJ and picked up a Blackstar HT-1. I'm way happier with the Blackstar. You can even use it with headphones and, what a right on tone it has!

Congrats Jackstrat,I have 6 Epis and actually prefer some models to their Gibson counterparts.I agree with Alan and other posters about the G-400,it's an incredible guitar. I have an SG bodied G-400 Custom Les Paul that's a copy of the original '61 Gibson Les Paul and it's a superb guitar. It has gold plating, 3 pups and 6 volume and tone controls, it's an incredibly versatile guitar and sounds great for anything from the smoothest, cleanest jazz to face melting metal shredding. My daughter's boyfriend who's a metal junkie actually prefers my Epi to his Gibson SG in every way.

Yes sir. Once again thanks Gents. I've tried out the 61 re-issue and, it is a sweetie! Two grand plus tax is way out of my limit at this time. These are some great times for young people to get musical. You can call me Jacstrat, Juan or whatever you like. I got to run right now, you folks all have a good one for right now.
