3) Not really.

Ya know what I dont get about Metallica? Almost everyone that knows that I play guitar has come up to me and asked, 'You play guitar, you must be into Metallica right?.'
Everyone seems to instantly connect guitar playing with those popular thrash metal bands. I hate that

Black album = the death of an ok band.

They need to either start drinking again or sack Hammet and get Mustaine back in.

hmm, that's strange!
I'm actually more into stuff like AC/DC so far as hard rock.
I know a lot of them on the guitar.

Maybe you look metal if that makes any sense?

Some guitarist look metal. play a black guitar or own at least 1 that is not always, but V shaped or explorer shaped. I picture a dean, jackson, or ibanez. Has maybe tattoos or percings... long hair. Dresses goth. That's what comes into my mind anyways lol

It could be a stereotype too! Maybe that's your vibe? just saying

"hey dude you play guitar?."... "Cool you must be into some Metallica!" HAHA!

As far as I'm concerned, I dont look metal at all. If anything I look more like a un-intentional, awkward geek. I spose that Metallica's all that the narrow minded people my age see in guitar playing.

I agree... The Black Album was the last good album Metallica put out.

But first they really REALLY need to take away the wah pedal from Kirk Hammett!

The only 3 Metallica albums that I own.
- Master of Puppets
- And Justice For All
- The Black Album

The only Metallica album I did not like was that St. Anger thing they did. I agree that their older stuff is a lot better. Death Magnetic is one of their better albums since The Black album.

I think in recent years they have become a little prima dona-ish.

The Black Album was their turning point. They produced more radio friendly songs from that album than any other.

I was a metal guitarist for a while. Pretty much learned every Metallica song from Kill 'Em All to Reload, and a lot of Pantera also. Almost wanted to start a tribute band, but there's already a couple in the Houston area.

I will still always listen to Metallica and the others of that genre. Their music is a part of my life, as is 80's hair metal. I even incorporate it into the blues-rock music I play now.

I don't think it was the death, but maybe the beginning of a slow death.

Mustaine is doing way better where he is at, Megadeth has always been badass! Plus, I don't think he is any better to get along with. Look how many lead guitarists he has been through! He might try to kick Hetfield out and take over lead vocals too!
