If you're going to take it out to play, I'd say the Mustang. My friend has one.
If you're just looking for a practice amp, I'd say the Gdec. I have a thirty and with the fuse software, it's very versatile. Playing to the backing tracks, tweaking the amp and effect settings in Fuse, downloading new presets from on line, and Hal Leonard has a series of books that come with an SD chip that has backing tracks and presets for all the songs in the book. Lots of things to keep you playing. I don't think I've used it for recording yet, but it should work pretty well, I would imagine.

Yes, but my friend has never loaded his Fuse software so I don't know how different it is. I know with the Gdec you can play the backing tracks that come with the presets but not on the Mustang. I think on the Mustang you have to plug in an Ipod, or other player, to play with backing tracks, but I could be wrong.

The G-DECs are much more versatile. They have most of the features of the Mustang amps, but, as stated, contain their own backing tracks and can play an almost infinite number of backing tracks with the SD card. The Mustang is what it is, a modeling amp that you can plug into your computer. The G-DEC is a guitar amp and a whole lot more.

I own the old G-DEC 30 amps, the new G-DEC 3 Thirty amps and both the Mustang II and the Mustang V. I spend a LOT more time on the G-DECs. As far as which one takes to pedals better, they don't need pedals, that's why they are modeling amps. You'd just be doubling up your effects and the results would be... overdone.

As far as playing out, either will do. There's more juice through the Mustangs, especially if you get up into the Mustang IV and V. But I use the G-DECs out all the time. With left and right outs on the back of the amp, they are a dream to run through the PA if need be.

And you can't beat the price of the G-DEC 3 Thirty right now - everyone is closing the amp out, so better grab one while you can for half the price it was a year ago! I've got two now and I think I'll grab a third just in case I need it down the road.

but what if i dont like all the effects on the amp i could use the pedals like if i dont like any of the chourses i could use my lc-1 landmine chours if i dont like any distortions i could use my grunge.
im not going to use the chours on the amp and pedal at the same time
