Well we could all go on forever but springing to mind 3 tracks off the same album, stone roses secone coming. Driving south, love spreads and good times. 3 tunes i love to play, and they all put you in the mood to groove. Also the first track on the album, 4 minutes in after the weird noises stop, breaking into heaven its called. I love me some stone roses.

for real though  "Rock Lobster" by the B-52's or "Whip It" by Devo.
simple is usually always what gets stuck in your head.

and the always memorable "Play That Funky Music" by Wild Cherry,
every time i pick up a bass I pop that riff out

I know there have been a couple of these threads since I've been here, but its always good to hear a kickass riff.

I was thinking for many hours last night which one deserves gold medal in my books. I had to give it to this though;

Such a powrfull riff. Makes me want to destroy sh1t

Whats yours?

Sick riff for sure! Interesting fact about Jack's guitar he's playing in that video: it's plastic.

My favorite riff of all time... oh man. So hard to know! But I think it's Scary Kids Scaring Kids' My Darkest Hour.

Well Nirvana aren't the only punk/grunge band. Whatd'ya think they were anyway? Their songs vary alot though, I can give you some links to some of there garage rock sounding songs if you like.

That would be very nice!
I know Nirvana isn't the only ones.
I'm a grunge/punk rocker myself.
That's all I care about really.
Oh and I love the Ramones :P

Being new to the Forum, I just knew there had to be a topic with this subject--a short search found it!

Hard to argue with any of the suggestions, some are pretty obvious. I first picked up a guitar in 1970, and at that time there were three riffs that every beginner had to know: "Satisfaction", "Foxy Lady", and "Sunshine Of Your Love".

But the riff of riffs, which caused even my Dad (who hated rock and roll) to come back through the room and ask, "Who is that? That's pretty good!", was the intro lick to "Honky Tonk Women". He respected my taste a little more after that, I'll never forget it.

He also liked Creedence's "Down On The Corner"... 8)

an age showing thread:

I agree "Sunshine of your Love" and would add "Crossroads" for Cream
"Foxy Lady" and "Purple Haze" for The Jimi Hendrix Experience
"Light My Fire" for the Doors
this could go on forever....
