Is your guitar tuned down a half-step, or did you actually compose that in Bb?

I have no idea what my tuning is. I've gotten this same tone since day one. Basically, I tune until I get the right crunch, and it's pretty consistent. I tune with gain. I guess it's more of an open tuning, but I have no idea how to describe it. I could do a demo of me strumming the open strings if you want.

...so you're not in standard tuning? (EADGBE)

if you're interested in alternative tunings, Robert Fripp (King Crimson) developed a "new" standard tuning some time ago: CGDAEG.

His philosophy was that the majority of stringed instruments were tuned in 5ths... guitar, however was tuned in 4ths and made the instrument "unfriendly". I fooled around with his tuning for awhile, but, having learned it the unfriendly way, I went back to old habits.

Nope. I wasn't born with one of those.

Anyways, I've been playing like this for almost 2 years now, and I like it. I've tried lessons before and I just couldn't make it work, so I just kept it simple and did nothing but rhythm.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that I have a method to my madness. I'll have to make an actual video to show what I mean.
