The vintage colours that define some of Fender's musical instruments are the same as Cadillac, Oldsmobile, Buick and even Corvette models from the good ol' days!

These vibrant finishes evoke long road trips in a convertible and the growl of the 409 big-block engine. They're also reminiscent of The Beach Boys, classic rock n' roll, and of course the original Woodstock.

Just for fun, here's a little montage that sheds a different light on guitars and vintage cars:

Fiesta Red is a Ford color, used almost exclusively on the 55-57 Thunderbirds (the years considered to be the "fabulous" Thunderbirds, hence the name of the band)...

My first car (which I still have*) was a 1964 Ford Falcon Futura. Two door hardtop...and when I had it painted I took my Fiesta Red Stratocaster to the paint shop and said, "Match this." I told her it was Fiesta Red, but she didn't believe me until she pulled the card and matched it up...she confirmed that it was a Ford color of the 1950's.

I wasn't aware that Chevy had a similar (or exact) color. I wonder if I cantalk Lady Armadillo into letting me buy a vintage Corvette to match...

*It's been in various states of mechanical and physical repair and disrepair for many years..that's why it survived the Great Guitar and Amp Collection Massacres of the 1990's; when I needed the money, I couldn't get anything for it, so it has been in my father's barn for a while. Since my father finally finished his '56 Ford, he said he'd start getting my old baby back together...

I found a 63 Impala for sale... Same bright red color as that Corvette... If I can talk the little old lady down, I'll scrap the moped idea.

Fender created a great marketing theme. SoCal, hotrods, surf, etc. It has never lost its appeal. At least not to me.

Seems to me a lot of musicians love guitars & classic cars. Such as Billy Gibbons, and Jeff Beck. I'm sure there's many others. I also have some guitars and a 69 Mercury cougar, and love to go to classic car shows in in summer. Maybe I can make the Columbus Ohio guitar show in june?
I haven't seen many guitars in my cougar color, I don't think I'd want to. It's called medium lime mettalic, ( code letter I ) with black striping. But I love it on my car.

together...

I have two 1962 Ford Galaxie 500 2 door hardtops. Both are in need of total restoration. One of them is black with red trim and the other is white. The white one came out with Ming Green paint but the current paint on the roof is closer to Lake Placid Blue. I'm planning on painting the roof Ming Green and leave it mostly stock.

Those Falcons are neat little cars. Does yours have a 260 or a 289? I'd love to have a '63 Sprint 2 door hardtop.

What kind of '56 Ford does he have? Car or truck? I had a '55 Fairlane 2 door post but a tree fell on it and caved the roof in. And the body was in pretty solid shape before this happened. We ended up selling it to a guy who wanted to make a Ranchero out of it.

Is it an Eliminator? With that garish hue, I would guess that it very well could be. What kind of engine does it have in it? 302? 351 Windsor? 390? 428?

Does Ford or GM make a Jaguar?
I know it isn't Ford, because I'm a Ford guy
