Ok, what exactly do I need to do when changing string tensions? My strat came with 9's, and I almost immediately switched from 10-46's. I was going to make whatever adjustments, but I never did end up doing that because I liked how it played right after I put the strings on. Lately, I have been doing a lot of dropped tunings, so I am going to be switching to 10-52's here shortly, and I am wondering, what adjustments to my guitar will I need to make after switching to that gage?

Thanks a byunch

l would take it to a pro to have it set up so they can check your intnation and get every thing set correctly. I wont work on my own guitars becuase i know that some one else can do a better job than i can

The 2 main things you will probably need to look into doing when changing string gauges is adjusting the intonation and adjusting the truss rod. Intonation isn't too hard to do as long as you're patient and take your time, and I think every guitarist should know how to do this. Truss rods can be a bit tricky though, and unless you are absolutely sure of what you are doing, you may want to take that in to a profressional. Then sometimes if you go to bigger gauges there may be a possibility that you need to get the slots on your nut widened a bit too.
